Hi, only just come across your channel. They look good. Good like with the rest of the build :)

Hi GEHDunedin, thank you for your comment. I had a small typo in the address. It's been updated now and should work for you now.

Hi there hopefully you have sorted the short. As an aid to further problems try fitting some of the plug and socket terminal blocks just before the main bus connection so you can quickly unplug a section of the layout to find the problem or prove that that bit is OK

Hi Timmy, I would have been very interested in the story of how you designed and printed the platforms.
@timmystrains3113 ай бұрын
Hi, I used Blender to make them on my computer, then I printed them all on one of my 3D printers. I takes me a long time, but I could try to make a video if thats something that might be of intrest?

Thank you for the update and glad that you are running again. Be carefull when testing the suspected parts because you may find a faulty part that blows up another, the board that has blown may not be the faulty board. I have seen it many times that a fault in one part/board will cause a fault in another. Depending on the cost of items, it may be better not to test the suspect parts, just get rid.

Since it appears that you have a Hogwarts Express, perhaps waving a wand and exclaiming "Shortus Expelliamus" might help? If the system worked when you left, something has to have changed. It's just determining what. Humidity? Pet hair? The aforementioned spiders? Another KZbinr in AUS had issues with a rodent infestation. Good luck with the fix.

Are you still having problems? I don't know your system and I am learning DCC, but I was am Electronic Engineer so I know how to fault find a system, so if you still need help I can walk you through a few things.

Hi, yes I'm still having problems, but I've not been in the train shed since the 14th due to an accident at work and I can't use one of my hands at the moment! Any pointers to try and find where the problem is would be great! Thanks
@malminstral7 ай бұрын
@@timmystrains311 Sorry to hear about your accident, hope you get better soon. 1. Take everything of the track & switch on, if the fault is still there, switch off. 2. Is the DCC bus in one long pair of wires or in 2 or more segments? You need to disconnect parts, basicly splitting the wiring in half, is the fault in one half or segment or in the other.

As daft as it sounds, look for spiders webs, they conduct! Burglar alarms going off in the night for "no reason".
@timmystrains3117 ай бұрын
Really? I didn't know that. I'll have a look over the track and under the boards next time I get time to go to the train shed. Thanks for the advice

Strange but true, burglar alarms going off in the night.

Greetings how do you go around the bends without the cork splitting. Isn't it better to split it lengthwise in two to bend a bit easier

Have you made any videos on making the servos for the points? I'm planning on using the same servos, but no idea where to start. Thanks.
@timmystrains311 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. I don't have a servo video at the moment. But when I put the servos on the double slip, I'll make one.
