I don't agree with buzzing to create the sound. The lips resonate because of an acoustic wave returning from the bell. Buzzing in my opinion causes tightness in the lips. Open lips, open sound. Also, the teeth should be in line and the lower lip should not go behind the upper lip to create higher notes. Finally, the fleshy part of the lips should not protrude into the cup.

Maurice André does not use 1/3rd upper 2/3 lower at all, in fact it was at least the opposite, but obviously he didn't know what he was doing I guess, you didn't try to explain him how to play J. S. Bach - Brandenburg Concerto Nº 2 F Major? With you maybe he would have recorded the most reknown trumpet recording of it. Thanks for your science sir. Stay as humble as you are

We don't buzz the mouthpiece and the instrument amplify the sound. The lips sympathetically vibrate reflexively to the wave that bounces back from the bell. This stuff will cause your throat to tense and ultimately focal dystonia.

I’m a beginner trombone player and I was struggling to find out why the notes I played were different from the notes that the intermediate players in my school band. I asked them about it and they said the key signatures. They explained this to me but I couldn’t quite get it so they told me about this channel and I understood it fully. I barely comment on videos but I just wanted to let you know how appreciative I am that I can finally play the right notes.

Great points! Sometimes moving up to a larger mouthpiece helps also. I played a King 3B with an F attachment in HS and used a 6 1/2 AL mouthpiece. I understand that the 3B is a larger bore 'bone, which I think really helped with my tone-John in Texas (TMEA All-State-1978)
