sorry the suspension on my MY2022 is bad, there is no "getting used to it" 😞 Don't like wobly cars, and prefer a nice stif suspension, but the "old model y" are plain bad.

Yes I ran review for a while on my m1 ultra, ran well, but could have been better

It's like hiring a structural engineer without being sure whether they are competent or not. If you're constantly double checking with another engineer you trust, you'd better hire that one. Reliability is what prevents large adoption for now.
@DavidTomic2 күн бұрын
Very true. The propose of this video was more so a timeline documentation point for me, as I’m sure in a years time I’ll make another video about this topic and it’ll be vastly different!

@@DavidTomic Yes it's progressing so fast. I don't know though why people are still waiting and not taking into account the coming change. The path is quite clear now, bit by bit all aspects of human cognitive and physical ability will be replicated then ultimately exceeded. It's only a matter of when. Most people however obstinately want to believe there is something magical about the human brain that will forever be out of reach of in silica replication. The end of the necessity of human labour poses unprecedented challenges to the social order as established since the agricultural revolution millennia ago. I don't understand why it's not the most important debate in parliaments and the media

Hi, I'm an interior design student with a quick question. I have a MacBook Pro with the Core i7 processor. I used enscape to render but their new update doesn't work on my computer anymore. If I get mac mini m4 and connect it to my MacBook can I use twinmotion. Twinmotion is too large for the computer I have now. Thank you!
@DavidTomic3 күн бұрын
I haven’t tested the new Mac mini so can’t say for sure. But twinmotion will work, yes. How well unknown.

Hi, as an interior designer who does small residential interior renders, would you recommend going for the older 2024 TM or 2025 version? I have 16gb Ram and Nvidia RTX3050 graphics card on a Dell gaming machine. Thanks!
@DavidTomic5 күн бұрын
2025 is better, 2024 is easier to learn less going on in the UI. Both are free though so I’d still suggest 25

subscription is not more accessible, subscription is "the milking the cow" away to perpetual payment... a shot in the foot from graphisoft. Many companies (here in norway) were already moving to Revit due the tools and easier coordination with engineers who use autodesk products, now is a even bigger incentive to move fro archicad, sadly.

Three revisions before AI has a correct answer? Really? It would be quicker to do the calculations. AI has a long way to go before it can be productive!

The first one is handy, I’ve never used the specific NCC one just asking the regular gpt model and it always was able to give me the answers needed. Including the Victorian building regs. I wonder if they will make one for the Australian standards that would be a game changer
@DavidTomic7 күн бұрын
The NCC GPT has knowledge of most of the Australian standards as well, once again a bit rough but gets the basic jobs done haha

Not at the prices they are charging haha switching to revit. Revit also has millions of users compared to thousands that archicad has so it’s a pretty easy choice when it comes to choosing where to put my money. If it was cheaper then yeah I would have stuck with it
@DavidTomic7 күн бұрын
Easy choice for individuals and small firms, very hard decision for large firms or even those with a couple employees, the amount of time lost and retraining will cost 10x more and Graphisoft knows it

I work with an Archicad distributor, and I´m a huge fan of AC ;) This gives me a lot of insight into this situation... I thought this subscription transition would scare every new client away... But in fact the opposite has happened, only very few small studios would have the finances to buy even a small number of Perp. licenses... However with the subscription solution, everybody can be onboarded without having to worry whether they can afford it or not. Plus, the fact that you can actually choose the expensive monthly schedule, and then easily adjust the number of licenses along the number of projects and staff, thus never having to pay for anything not beeing used... This has simply resulted in a lot of new users/clients beeing onboarded, and turning to Archicad ;) Cheers :)

Another comparison that makes no sense. This comparison is similar to bicycle vs. motorcycle. AutoCAD contains no intelligent data like walls, floors, windows, and doors. A proper comparison would be AutoCAD Architecture vs. ArchiCAD.

Hi David, Thank you for all of your videos. I upgraded a 2024.1 TM file to 2025.1. Several of my materials turned into a checkerboard pattern. I can't seem to drag and drop or modify the materials. Do you have any idea how to fix this? They were good materials in 2024.1. Thank you! Deborah Moon
@DavidTomic29 күн бұрын
Hey mate, they do this when your texture can’t be found, or where you saved them on your computer is different. If you put them back or relink them they should be fine. Otherwise if they were custom textures from 2024.1 save them as user materials and then copy and paste that file in the twinmotion folder directly into the 2025 version of the same folder
@deborahmoon9728 күн бұрын
Hi David, By accident, I found that when I expanded the image to full screen, all the materials were back and correct. When I made the image smaller to include the menus, I updated the image. I have no idea why this worked but it did.

Hey David, i have a question! I have an apple studio M2 64 Gb Ram and twinmotion still runs very slow when I^m using lumen (even without it). It would be a shame if there's nothing I can do and I wasted a lot of money. I can't even change the sun rotation without it lagging, and it crashes a lot while exporting (ultra settings). Any tips?? I'd appreciatean answer by a lot so thanks in advance!!!!
@DavidTomicАй бұрын
Hey mate, it really shouldn’t it is the answer. I’m using an m1 ultra and it has no issues. Only when I add in a lot of polygons for plants or am trying to render out a massive model. Make sure that you have enough free memory and storage on your device, reinstall, and try the basics because in theory it should work absolutely fine.

Hey, I'm also from Australia hopefully going to study my undergrad in Architecture soon. Is a Masters degree absolutely necessary to become a licensed architect? Because I watched a video from another Architect and he mentioned that a masters degree isn't needed to become licensed and progress in your career, however, I'm pretty sure he lives in America (Yt name is Drew Paul Bell if you want to know). Is that the case here too? Also, will it getting a masters degree make a huge difference in my career later on? Thanks 😊
@DavidTomicАй бұрын
Hey mate. There is an alternative pathway, in WA that’s 7 years working under a licensed architect. You can check the architect board page in your state. It doesn’t make much of a difference IMO
