Do you have any videos on how to replace the steering cord? I purchased a used Ares OC1 and I would like to replace the steering cords. Thanks

I'm curious if there's ever a reason to rig the Ama nose down (tippy up front) but more stable in the back or vise versa?
@Lehmann108 Жыл бұрын
Our dragon boat club just purchased one of your boats, a Gemini. First, its such a great boat! Light and fast. What I'm most impressed with is the brilliant but simple engineering of the steering cables and how you can disconnect and connect them so easily between the front and the back seats. Nice job!

My ares have a rudder for weed, but I paddle mostly in flat water no weeds would a flat water rudder make it more faster and stable?
@kealanibartlett1137 Жыл бұрын
If you paddle mostly in flat water the Ares Flat Water rudder would be your best bet as it provides the least amt of drag and still allows proper maneuverability. No real difference in stability.
@jtb2180 Жыл бұрын
@@kealanibartlett1137 Thank you , just ordered a flat water rudder
@pcatful9 ай бұрын
I don't understand. A flat water rudder would be shorter--no need for depth in waves, no? So also good for weeds. I just have the rudder that came with it. Good for training and good for when I get in the waves.

Videos are great… Thank you! I’d be really interested in a “How to replace your steering line for the ARES” as I unfortunately need to do this currently.

Is it possible to use oc1 as surf ski without attaching outrig?
@kealanibartlett1137 Жыл бұрын
We wouldn't recommend it:)

Hey, Robert Norman has a few videos of himself paddling without the ama, but not for long@@kealanibartlett1137
@pcatful9 ай бұрын
I've see a person use a surfski with a single (outrigger style) paddle, but the OC-1 must be less stable that surfski for sure, without the ama.

I thought you had said when you built the Draco it would come with a swept back rudder. A friend of mine here in florida bought one and he is haveing a lot of problems with weeds because it came with a surf rudder like your showing here.
@kaiwaa Жыл бұрын
There is a weed rudder ("swept back rudder") that is offered for the Draco OC1. If you head to our website you are able to purchase it from our shop or you can check with your local dealer to see if they have one they would be able to sell you.

The Draco OC1 is designed for paddlers of all weights in flat to calm water. Features like lower volume, less rocker and lighter weight are all features to help the canoe excel in the flat to calm water.
