I bought a 2022 last month with 108 miles on the clock. Just hit 700 miles and I gave her an oil change...first service. I also just put some Viking bags on her earlier today. Love the ergonomics, power, torque, and exhaust note. I've had many bikes over the last ten years from Honda to Harley and this is my favorite😎🍻

I used to have a B44 back in the day and it could be a bit of a pain to start, how do you get on with yours?

I was under the impression that the bikes ecu would learn that the air sensor is not working and compensate for this thus neutralising the BP benefit🤷🏼‍♂️

Nice run, but you chose the more direct but boring route past the army firing ranges. If I was going from Leyburn to Reeth I'd go via Redmire and take the road that goes past the Bolton Arms (now called "The Redmire Village Pub" - crappy name) and over the hill, which is the road that joins your route from the left at 11:48. When you said "This isn't Reeth" (13:15) you were at Grinton, a lovely village in its own right, where I've never failed to see Kingfishers from the bridge.

Do you still recommend those panniers? I fitted a set to my T120, and they don’t have wobble around. Like they’re attached with springs. I haven’t enjoyed them.

On top of replacing the OEM silencers with the Norman Hydes Togas, did you also remove the cat converter?? I only ask because I own the same bike as you, and was informed by my mechanic that "you can do one or the other, not both, if you open up the breathing by going with an aftermarket silencer like the British Customs sleepers (US) or the Norman Hyde togas, it will sound better and run a bit faster, but you cannot also do the x-cat (remove the cat con) because it will be way too loud (think obnoxious Harley loud) and it will run terrible, you need some back pressure for it to run smoothly and efficiently. If you replace the cat con with the X-cat, then just leave the factory peashooters on." Any advice or recommendations or insight would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

Had a speed twin 900 for 3 years, wanted a change bought one of these, so much lighter, wants to be used quite hard, likes the revs. Had mine 9 months now, it's very addictive, handles great, rear shock is a bit crap on the rough stuff, but overall, it's light zippy character won me over. 👍

My Trident has the same issue when starting up sometimes! Sounds like it’s starting and then just cuts out! Have you found out any reason why? I asked Triumph to look into it but they couldn’t find any faults…

Funny you have said some of the same things I felt when I was riding my bike home for the first time from new. I thought I had made a big mistake putting down 7495 pounds for this bike. The bike felt rough, not smooth a bit buzzy. The gear change was very vague no feeling of changing gear. Had to look down at the instrument to see if I had indeed changed gear. But it improved as I was getting home. Compared to my MT-07 It was not a good thing. Leant forward towards the bar a little more. The good thing though was the mirrors, better than the MT-07 and the general feel of the switch gears. One thing I will say which is different to you, is the indicators they fell naturally with good feel. Funny enough the bike you are riding is the same colour way as mine. Now roughly with just over 400 miles on the clock, still running it in the gear change feels more better, but I noticed that on 2 occasions on a cold start after leaving the bike for several days there is the cam chain rattle, which is quite loud at start up but last for a couple of seconds. I will bring that up on its first Service.

Brakes are great.Quick Shifter is amazing upgrade on this bike & is heaps of fun.I ride with Triumph Twins & big block Harley Davidsons & ride it right using Quick Shifter keep up easily & once in mid-high revs actually faster than the Harley boy's 😁 haven't ridden with a modern T100-120 just 790-865 older models.Low down at intersections the big bikes have you but once got revs up & with Quick Shifter your moving.Rev it out to 7000rpm in every gear 2nd & above you're flying & redline is 10500rpm so can go even faster & 7000rpm have you up with the big boy's with plenty left.The seat is very plush too & riding position is very comfortable.I've put Evotech Tail tidy,Radiator guard,frame sliders,bobbins & got a colour coded Ermax Nose fairing on the way in mail which makes bike look awesome.

This helps my decision, ive got to do something, im grinding my gear shifter and my brake pedal 🤔

I have a speed twin , each time it is serviced the loan bike has been a t 120 and I have really enjoyed riding it , I think it’s my next bike 👍

Greeting from across the pond! I did the belt drive conversion on my 2018 T120 with the identical brand that you used. Conventional wisdom says that chain drive actually puts a bit more power to the pavement than belt drive. I didn't notice too much loss of power while riding solo but where I really noticed power loss with the belt drive was when I had a passenger. Any thoughts?

not having to remove both silencers to adjust the chain is enough for me ; who designs a bike that goes into production where you have to remove the exhaust system to adjust the chain tension

I’m 10,000 miles in on my 2019 and averaging 70 miles per gallon but when I tell people they don’t believe it for a 1200 cc bike, mines a keeper, enjoy the riding season, cheers

Look great but Triumph got the design of that tank bag wrong, they should give you compensation if there is rub marks on your tank.

A good bike is well worth keeping hold of if it suits your riding style. I purchased a Honda VFR 1200 crosstourer new in 2018 and it’s now covered 19,400 miles and it’s definitely a keeper. It’s nice to see you back out and riding those great roads, and the scenery is just beautiful 👍🏻

Yes, it is a great bike, obviously! It is sort of a waste to trade a motorcycle after 2 or 3 years, just after one has got to know it thoroughly and after investing many times a respectable sum of money to all the extras...

I purchased my 2022 T120 a few days ago in San Antoino Texas. I had to ride it home to West Texas about 250 miles. I rode in the city, on I10 interstate highway at 80 mph speed limit, I did over 100 mph passing some big riggs for short burst. The last 80 miles was hills and twisties on back country roads. But on this portion, I pick up 35 to 50 mph cross winds. Those winds sucked ass especially with big rig going the other way passed me. I had to put gas in the bike 37 miles from home. I guess I got crappy gas mileage from the interstate highway riding. I purchased this bike because I had a 1982 Honda CB900C custom from 1983 to 1998 and loved that bike and wanted a bike that sat and rode like it. The T120 is the closest bike I could find that rides like the Honda from 1982. I love this bike and will be keeping it. I had to sell the Honda due to having to move overseas in the military. I was USAF from 1984 to 2007 active duty, retired.

There is a digital rev counter in the panel in the speedo. It is one of the toggle thru menu items.

Really appreciate this info, I made myself the angle spaners with cheap Chinese jobs. Cut and welded. With the combination of these and standard spinners job was done very easy. Thanks heaps

I just recently had a muffler shop do a cat delete & crosspipe install on my 2022 Bonneville T120. Living in California, it was a lengthy process from ordering the pipe from a source that would deliver to Calif to finding a shop that was willing to do the work. Emissions laws in California are STRICT !! That being said, I didn't ask the mechanics if they tuned the bike for the modification. What I understand is that the bike's ECU does it automatically, or . . . am I mistaken ??
