This video contains quite a bit of misinformation about Gluten Free Beers. Enzymatic modification only creates what is known as "Gluten Reduced" beer, not at all tolerated by people with Celiac Disease and often people with Gluten intolerances. In addition, the enzyme cuts the gluten up into shorter chains and tricks the only test available to detect Gluten in food into a false negative, so many people "think" it is gluten free, but only because it is not detected by the test. Beyond that, the comments about a rigorous boil having some effect on Gluten is totally unfounded and BS. If you want to brew Gluten Free beer, brew with non-gluten containing grains such as Sorghum, Millet, Rice, GF Oats, Teff, etc. This video should really be taken down as it is misleading to the viewer.

Can you please tell me what tubing size you used for the beer and gas lines. I’m fairly new to the whole home brewing party, so not sure on this sort of thing. Thanks

Enjoy these while they last folks. PET leaches Antimony and so it's only a matter of time before they are outlawed as food safe containers.

I'd love to see this product in more videos, especially in practical use in a fermentation. Why use the sightglass accessory? Do you need to add a spunding valve? The clamp mechanism on the lid seems awkward. Could we see it being opened and closed?

Brilliant video, thanks for the demonstration. My only question would be what sanitiser are you using? I noticed that you're not bothering to dry the equipment at all. Is the leftover bubble residue safe to mix with the juice? This would obviously save time and effort. So I would be keen to know what you were using and if you sell it. Thanks in advance.

I love this video - thank you! The clearest and most concise I've seen. Thank you. Is there any value in adding more sugar? How long before bottling and how long in the bottle?! 🙂👍
@Geterbrewed
@Geterbrewed Ай бұрын
Hi Thanks. Adding more sugar will either add more ABV or sweetness, depending on the yeast. So you could do this depending on your preference. Bottling would be done after fermenting. So once your air-lock (bubbler) has stoped bubbling, and your final gravity is reached. We recommend that if your final gravity is the same for about 3 days, you can bottle. Bottle conditioning cider typically takes 2-4 weeks, but it can take longer depending on the type of priming sugar used.

When I dry hop I put the hops in a nylon bag. Before putting the hops in the bag I sterilise it. That would be tricky with the hop tea bag. So, is sterilising the bag for dry hopping unnecessary?
@Geterbrewed
@Geterbrewed Ай бұрын
Hi. It is still necessary to sterilise. Thats why we put in hot water before adding it to the fermenter.

The Guinness of today (4.2* normally in the EU) tastes like water compared to the Guinness of the past. Being 60 years old I'm glad I was able to drink the traditional full-flavored Guinness that made the brand famous. Today's version is overpriced girly beer. I'm surprised they don't serve it with an umbrella nowadays.

I have brewed with both with good results. I prefer the DME mainly because i find it easier to mix completely into the water. I use a blender for this purpose. The LME can be hard to fully dissolve and then is a danger for scorching in the boiler (I use a boiler with an electric element on the bottom).
