Great video. For anybody interested in crank length topic, I think it's worth pointing out, that there were very good riders of the past riding very long cranks. For example Ondřej Sosenka, world hour record holder (up to 200mm!). It's worth experimenting with longer cranks than standart 175mm for tall riders in my experience. Tall riders 190cm+ generally produce higher power(offset by aero penalty of larger body), but for efficient power production it might be optimal to go 180 or even 190mm crank lenght or more even on TT bike. This general trend for shorter cranks does not make sense for taller rider, since force required to produce high power at low cadence on short cranks is very muscle taxing in my opinion. Increased cadence is not solution since it's proven aero penalty and from some point it's not efficient at longer efforts as well tiring legs more than lower cadence at lower force requiring longer cranks.
@trifitguy13 сағат бұрын
Depends if it is just a TT race or an Ironman where shorter cranks help one to run off the bike! Look at all the top IM athletes. Using much smaller cranks! Like 2 sizes down! So it really matters what kind of racing we are talking about
@rotreklhypoteky13 сағат бұрын
@@trifitguyI do timetrials. I don't understand triathlon at all, so don't have any opinion on if or why shorter cranks benefit triathlete
@ronykubaСағат бұрын
They don’t. They just like to assume that somehow a different set of physics/physiology applies to a different sport. If the crank length isn’t long enough to cause any biomechanical issues (hip impingement, pelvic instability), then going shorter doesn’t make any difference.
@rotreklhypoteky18 сағат бұрын
Both fitness and aero setup are requirements. On unoptimized TT setup the power requirement to maintain decent speed is out of reach even for best TT riders in the world. It's not case of replacing one with other. Both needs to be in place in order to be competitive.

I had the opposite experience with the Campy rotors. Under lots of braking the rotors warp and rub. It was the rotors because I stopped on several occasions and could see it. After they cool the rubbing goes away. I really like the looks of the Campy rotors and the extra weight doesn't bother me but I can't get past the rubbing. I'm currently using Shimano Dura-Ace rotors and not one issue in months and I've even put new pads in and no issues.

Awesome bike! I am a bit confused about your choice of tires. Corsa Pro does have a tubular version, is there a reason you went with the older Corsa Speed G2? Is the newer Corsa pro tubs slower? Also what tire width did you choose? These older FFWD wheels have relatively narrow rim width, so I'm guessing you went with 23mm tubs?
@ronykuba16 күн бұрын
As I said in the video, there’s no Corsa Pro Speed tubular, so the Speed G2 remains the best option. As 23mms are also no longer available, we went for 25s.
