It also provides great feedback as to whether or not you remain balanced in your swing! Great tip! 👍

I have been coaching for 20 years. I also obsess over holding the finish. Why? Because that is when the reporters take their picture.
@nomulliganspodcast13 сағат бұрын
It's soooo good! And LOVE that comment - use it with juniors all the time! There is so much in a finish that you can analyze that tells a story of how it got there!

Won’t be holding the finish very long with a massive chunk 🤣💀
@nomulliganspodcast13 сағат бұрын
hahah! Does the chunk prevent the good finish or does the lack of a totally balanced finish cause the chunk 🤔??

Someone has to say it! 👏I always play straight up and I feel like my handicap actually resembles my ability, the most hilarious thing in golf is when someone says they’re a low handicap and you play with them and you can tell they cheat 😂

I feel like it’s important to find the instructor that can work with your swing too. So many want to just teach their swing to you rather than help you get to the right fundamentals.
@nomulliganspodcast7 ай бұрын
Good point, Most of the best teachers are able to do that. However, it’s still a balance of fundamentals are fundamentals because physics is physics. Lots of variables to get the best instructor for a given person ($$ available, time, goals, ability, access, etc, etc), but a great student (regardless of skill) will make even the least experienced instructor look incredible.

I wanna see what towel(s) you guys use...I dont recall the trifold towel being a "bad gofler" pick last year. I do agree they can be difficult to use, but if you dont use one of the towels that clip to the bag, what do you use?
@ZacTGolf7 ай бұрын
I keep one on my bag specifically for my irons and a separate for cleaning my ball

I love the trends. Breakdown holes by level of difficulty goes a long way. Which are designated “easy holes” and which are “hard holes”?

Love the whole review/diagnosis Jack talked about looking at for his 2024 rounds so far. I have thought about this myself but this definitely gave me motivation to take 5 minutes and add hole averages/trends to my excel doc.

I should pull out my middle school or high school (cant remember when) bat project between metal and wood. Like Jack said, at the high level, speed of pitch and speed of swing, they are a lot closer. At lower speeds, metal performs much better. This is why kids get to use metal bats cuz they just cant generate enough speed with a heavier wood bat. College would go to wood bats if the cost wasnt so high; they just cant afford it.

Woah woah woah...15 (which is actually 14 cuz thats the max amount of clubs) divider is not a mark of a bad golfer. If you have the plastic sleeves for your clubs in your bag, sure! But as a near scratch golfer with a 14 divider bag, I dont believe its a mark of a bad golfer. OCD maybe because I have a specific slot for each club, but I dont like the 4 divider.

checkers vs chess; PSR preshot routine process; chasm between trust & performance - how do you mind/execute the gap (know your game) other than final putt for every hole, EVERY shot has a degree of error to it (unless you hole out), know how-to prepare for eventual adversity. all about managing failure 👌🏻

35:24 instead of saying “I can’t…” I try to say, “I’m having trouble doing…..” That completely rewires my mindset and makes it more likely that I will be able to accomplish what I’m having trouble doing…

Jack is right! I agree asking questions breaks the barrier between coach and player that engages them into a collaboration. I try to do this when coaching as well, asking my players which extends ownership of what they are doing back to them and off me.

I had the disconnect from the phone in Michigan where I had not service away from the cabin (wifi) for about few miles in any direction. In times of need, it was frustrating at first, but with planning before leaving, it was quite refreshing. And like you two talked about with "music in your ears" while working out, it was nice to run without anything playing when forced to do that. At home, mowing/yard work is my typical electronic disconnect time.

Love when you all went through the match play holes playing each other...for those of us on youtube, the white board could have been used to keep track of the shots! Maybe future podcasts/youtube videos could utilized that for those of us who are visual people.
