This shows that it really doesn't matter who voices Kermit or the other characters. Jim Henson created something that has outlived himself and will continue to carry on his legacy throughout many generations to come.

I always loved this song since I was a kid in the early ‘80’s. I cried watching Ally McBeal, when a child cancer patient (Haley Joel Osmond) died, Vonda Shepherd singing this song made Haley’s character’s death sadder, but also make me ugly cry like this 😭. This beautiful piece of nostalgia from my childhood watching “The Muppet Show” I’m the late ‘70’s-early ‘80’s, making me weep and say like I always say whenever I make a comment of a video that makes me cry, “Damn waterworks!”. 😭

Remember how they ended The Muppet Movie with THE MAGIC STORE and panned out to a whole bunch of Muppets? They had over 250 characters from The Muppet Show, Sesame Street, Emmet Otter’s Jugband, and The Land of Gorch. All characters that were released in the 70s. But now it is 2022 and there are decades worth of new Muppets, over 3,400. I don’t know for what, maybe for a finale for a Jim Henson bio film or concert movie, but I hope they redo that scene this time with exactly 1,000 Muppet characters from all the muppet TV shows, movies, and specials.

Paul Williams was a fairly young man when he initially worked on this song. Decades later, and here he is singing with Kermit again. Goes to show, you don’t outgrow the muppets.

The muppets have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, I remember watching the first three seasons all the time as well as the movies. Seeing this lets me know that the muppets aren’t going anywhere soon and I’m so glad. I do have to admit Matt did pretty outstanding in this song and he sounded pretty close to the legend himself Jim. They have just filled my life with so much magic. I don’t think I will ever not adore the muppets💚💖🤎💙

I wish Steve Whitmire was a Muppets performer again because he was the best Kermit after Jim and firing him was the worst mistake they’ve ever made
