Love my 5d mkIV. Paired with two zooms (16-35 IS L and 70-200 L) plus zeiss 50 1.4 lovee it as I can share lenses between it and the RED which I use for video as i can't stand hybrids with their convoluted mess of manus and codecs. Raw straight to A Big fat SD card on my 5dmk4. I'm not a fan of the sterile and busy bokeh of the RF and R series combinations.

This camera kicks ass, plain and simple. Mirrorless is a gimmick, and so are a lot of its features. You want video? Buy a video camera. You want stunning professional images? You can’t go wrong with the 5D Mk IV. Camera too heavy? Stop being a pansy.

There always has to be a reason to switch or buy a newer camera. I still can't find it. Some people instead of real reasons, try to convince themselves with excuses to make the switch. Love the Mk 4, it does everything I need.

Dude, it's scary similar your story/problems you have as me. I also bought it (second-hand) around 2020 and I loved using it non-stop until a month ago. Mine's the same case: the focus mode is stuck in AF-C and the battery swap reset. I appreciate the alternatives, but the battery thing is a dealbreaker for me. I used to spend almost all day taking pictures and so the battery swap is necessary for me and this problem just kills me. I think I might have to put it on a shelve and let it dust since selling it might be dishonest to a future buyer and I don't a fujifilm repair center nearby. Hope you get yours fixed soon

Did you get an answer from Fujifilm and how much it will cost to repair? I have exactly the same Problem. No Viewfinder Change, no manual Focus, no Fokus switch and reset after batter change

The problem with the viewfinder blocker and the internal memory when replacing the battery lies with the internal memory battery. it is a small rechargeable button cell that powers the viewfinder shutter and the internal memory. Battery Type: MS414GE

This is 100% the cause of a loose ribbon cable OR dead internal battery. All these things are located on one ribbon cable. I had the same problem and plugging in the cable fixed all these problems. When I had the camera open I measured the battery's voltage and this was still ok. The speaker is also located on this cable. Does this still work on your camera? You are far more patient than I was. I got my X100F used (only about 800 shots on it, I think) in 2018 and the viewfinder screen stopped popping up about a year later. I don't remember if I had problems with the AF system, but i wouldn't be surprised if I did. I called Fujifilm US and they told me it would cost about $600 to fix because they needed to replace the lens assembly. So, I got it back a couple weeks later with a new lens (which means new shutter, with shutter count 0) and had no problems thereafter. I kept it until I got my X100VI maybe 25K-30K shots later. Honestly, I kind of miss the F because it's built like a tank in comparison with the VI. All things considered, if I were you, I'd repair it and keep it.

That's fucked up, man. We photographers need a camera to use any time under any situation. This errors just won't let you work properly. Get a new one or buy a second hand used camera.

At first, I was puzzled by your review untill the alternatives. Almost feel the alternatives should have been the leading discussion because it absolutely makes sense. On its own, it is a great camera but if compared it looses on so many aspects. If the price was considerably lower, than yes. Hope people watched till the end.

As a professional Photographer I use the 5D Mark IV almost everyday, and the video is amazing! it is worth the money! Many professionals in the industry are still using the 5D mark IV.

I know it's a crazy idea these days but I actually bought a video camera for shooting video and use the 5D Mark IV as a stills camera where it excels,

R5 price is almost double the prize of mark 4 and the result is same.

You mention the Compact Flash card as a "quirk" when it ALSO has an SD card, thereby allowing you to pick your favorite format, use any existing older cards you might have in either format, AND most importantly, write to both cards at the same time providing you with ON THE SPOT backup as you shoot? I stopped watching your review the second I realized you were uninterested in being informative, but rather wanted to say what fit your own narrative. The fact that it has two slots for BOTH major card formats isn't a quirk. It's INCREDIBLY BENEFICIAL, as any professional photographer will almost inevitably discover at some point in their careers.

Do not believe this BS from thus guy, I own one and disagree with the majority of His remarks. Especially his last comment that there was nothing special with the use of this body. To push crop bodies over full frame, to Me shows He has no expertise that He should make video on cameras in the future.

Useless video. Was not even mentioned the built-in GPS. The 5D4 is the most versatile of the canon digital cameras with optical viewer. It has a nikon-like auto ISO and manual mode, what other 5D-s don't have and it has more resolution than the 1D series. I bought it over the R7 because of the optical viewer and my collection of EF L lenses.

5D mark iV is still in production in 2024. and just bought a brand new one for the next 10 years.

Dear Spencer, i can't comprehend that u have all the praises for the image quality of 5D Mark iii & the newer one Mark iv is not even on par with its predecessor, strange! The company R&D team must've made a difference when Mark iv was launched. In terms of sales figure in 2016-17 Canon was on top.

Actually, like an old SLR, the 5D Mk IV has a stop-down button near the lens. This mechanically sets the aperture so that you CAN preview the actual image through the eyepiece.

Awesome video about the 5DMKIV. The 4K files are large given how it’s captured & stored. On the other hand, the 1080p is absolutely amazing. I use my 5DIV for video at times with my C100MKII. I found my 5DIV on the used market through a certified Canon distributor with warranty. Picked up an R6MKII for Christmas and it will carry most of the work. I plan to keep my 5DIV with its build quality. I’m a hobbyist looking to do more photography in the future. Thanks for the content.

How strange to post a video about the X100V when it seems you don't have one and the video features an X100F. All X100 cameras are not equal and the X100V has many important new and improved features, including a new, sharper lens, a tilting screen, improved autofocus and more. You use the term X100 and X100V interchangeably which is odd since the original X100 was introduced 12 years ago and was followed by the X100S, X100T and X100F.

I am looking at buying a MacBook Pro 2015, 15", 2.8GHz, 16GB RAM, and running a second monitor (32" 1440p) using the AMD Radeon R9 M370X GPU with either the Intel Iris Pro (1536 MB) or Intel Iris Pro 5200 which is better for video editing and all out screen performance?

I prefer to use a lens with very good sharpness, and then be able to adjust it in post production, than to use a cheap one and see myself in trouble because I can't fix the photo in post production, and just because I don't want to use a heavy lens, it's my opinion

Did you try w/ Iris Pro only? I was curious of the difference if using the i7 2.5 w/ R9 M370X vs the i7 2.8 w/ Intel Iris Pro only? For medium photoshop & some 1080 editing. Update: I use for 1080 edit (4k capable, just tad slower) w/ R9-M370X on the i7-4980HQ 2.8GHz to external Cinema Display. ! or 2, it can only run AMD GOU so it will get warm so changing the thermal paste helped. Artic Silver No5 is awesome. It's so easy on this model as the GPU & CPU heatsink is right there as you remove bottom. Bing bang done. Or "Bob's your uncle" as Nan wold say.If you realy wanted 4k edit power for half the cost & don't need to be mobile w/ it, old Mac Pro single hex core is good w/ AMD R9-580X 8g, w/ room to change out for 12 core later. It's Westmiere EP low TDP so 1 gen older then in this but high end Xeon. I use my late 2012 Mac Pro 5,1 dual Xeon X5675's for exactly that workload when I need it.
