Is the striper fishing usually that good at HR? I’ve always heard there wasn’t many striper in HR.

Typically it isn’t as good as the other lakes- normally high rock fish are bigger, but fewer and further between, but the last couple of years, there has been an uptick in the 18-22 in size fish, so I guess we’ll see where it goes from here

Another thing about weight. If everybody is throwing g 8 oz and you are throwing 5oz, its going to be a problem. Your sinker is going to be rolling a lot fast than the others and your more likely to get in a mess. Find out what they are throwing g and throw the same.

Thanks for the advice, learned a lot. Never really fished this way before. Can I use different size jigs on the same line say 1/32 and 1/16 or do they all need to be the same size? Also you mentioned either putting a weight on the line or changing out the jig. If I choose to change out the jig do I have to go back through the entire process with the line or is there another way of doing it for a quick change out? mj
@brilliantfishingnc
@brilliantfishingnc 2 ай бұрын
Sure, you can use different size jig on the same line. You’ll just have to guesstimate your depth. As far as quick change out, I don’t know any great way to do it other than just cut off your old jig and tie a new one on

@@brilliantfishingnc Thanks next time I go out, I'm going to try this technique. I fish normally on Lake Guntersville in Alabama. I will try to get a screen shot for you. There's a certain area where the fish year round are on a 25ft deep rock ledge that covers a lot of area. Normally boats are just sitting; I'm going to try this technique in hopes of drawing the fish out to me. (:

Thanks for the great podcast! Are the hooks attaching to a singular, or duel line on those mullet/pompano rigs? Could I tie a snelled size 1 to the end of the dropper loop for a more subtle presentation? Does it even matter if it's 1 line or 2 going to the hook?
