Am I the only person who pays attention to this painting? ^^;;

Great artist. Thank you but why block out genitalia? This is art not pornography. What is wrong with people? God created us naked . The human body is beautiful. Don’t hide it .

The Metropolitan Museum of Art gave her a 1 woman show a few years ago that I saw several times!! She truly inspired me to stay in the narrative painting genre instead of wandering off somewhere into the still life. I think her father, Orazio understood then his daughter would end up making history. I did not know she had brothers and that her father would choose her over them. It kinda blows my mind that he would dare training his daughter as if she were her brothers. THe reality remains she had more talent and the interest whereas her brothers were simply NOT interested. Orazio's decision revealed he was very progressive in this way. Usually the father's would just ignore their daughters and instead try to arrange them in a marriage that would benefit the families.

Spectacular. One of the many, many brilliant female artists largely IGNORED. I love her paintings.

Whoever put this video together is an idiot. The artists painted a nude with clearly showing all. You had to blur out penises because you are a sick person and the penis of a person is bothering to you. Your father had one, you know.

Why is there no mention of his use of images of young women and girls? When a middle aged man paints only young girls there is usually an unsavory reason.

The AI programme you used to generate this video doesn't know the difference between David Jagger, the artist, and Mick Jagger, the lead singer of the Rolling Stones. It's another example of AI content flooding KZbin.

Many of these portraits - particularly those of Mick Jagger - are not by David Jagger.

Agree with the AI voiceover. However, I had not heard of this artist before and never seen his work so I am grateful for this video in introducing such powerful art to me 🙏

The perfect overlayring of underlying to surface brush strokes capturing perfectly the tonal shades and highligts precisely where they occur. A deeply and sensitively calculated daube of colour in the perfectly appropriate space. Not sentimental but demonstrating a deep love of his countrymen and women. Executed with great precision. A very uique interpretor of what he saw, Rosie Hoy New Zealand

Lol "captured on his ca-" ... my brain autocompleted it as camera. I'm psyched to find a channel for art history that's so engaging. I find whether I can really latch onto a story or not is a big difference between storytelling and narrating. The pace of this is amazing, a pleasant, more (omg, I almost said "artful")... what's the word.. it has a lovely rhtyhm and flow. I love the idea of episodes for each artist. I crave history a potentially odd amount.

Incredible how Qatari and Saudi interests have bubbled up the master works market to exorbitant levels, just to keep those works hidden away due to their subject matter seen as controversial in the very conservative societies of such countries.

Zdzislaw Beksiński's art is not creepy, but it breathes in a dark and strange paralell world. He was one of the greatest painters of our time.

Very nicely done! Delacroix was not one of my particularly favorite painters, but your essay has introduced me to just how deep his work actually is. Thank you!
