I just watched Voices of Fire for the 1st time 8.30.23… I was taking aback!!! I had to Utube them to see if they really had more to offer after the show! I see quite a few faces that were in the show are missing. I have to wonder if they felt the same way I am feeling now. I cried several times while watching the show because I could feel the anointing on some of the voices - the voices that are missing. This song sounds like a song you could hear in a nightclub. The dances and outfits speak hip hop - not holy. Music and singing are powerful and spiritual, but music and singing can’t keep you - only Jesus can. There is so much talent on this choir, but I simply do not feel that anointing I felt while watching the Netflix show. I was expecting to hear a mix of traditional and contemporary gospel from this phenomenal choir, not a hip hop song. If I did not know Jesus as Lord and Savior, this song would not make me want to know him because it sounds like much of what is on secular radio. A flashing cross in a video and doing praying hands as a dance move just doesn’t do anything for me as a worshipper and believer - thankfully, I know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior already. Anyway, hopefully the upcoming album will reflect holiness and reverence for Jesus.
