I'm on #2 and so far both of these are not signs of autism. Repetivness is something all kids have in common . Toe walking orctip toeing is something all kids have in common. I heard number 4 , 2yr Olds that aren't talking is not a sign of autism , your just getting mothers everywhere worried you need to tell everyone that these things are common in kids without autism cause u r making parents panic for nothing. I hate your child was diagnosed with this but you don't need to get other parents worried .
@Christy-mw9scКүн бұрын
Those all seem like normal things that most toddlers do. My grandaughter who just turned one does many of these. I wonder how many doctors diagnose kids as having Adhd or Autism who are just being normal kids. Just so they can prescribe meds to the kids which the Doctors get a kickback for every med they prescribe. Its really something parents need to consider before you just let them fill your kids full of costly prescription meds.

no competent psychologe of psychiatric would give a clear diagnosis at this age!!! same as adhd. there may be early signs but kids can still "grow over" this sympthomes. so early diagnosis are dangerous, misleading and simply incompetent!! observe it, but dont stigmatise you child so early! give her a chance to develope her individuality even if she might be different, she has not necessarily be sick. just be patient and wait for pre-school of schoolage if you want really the best for your child

my granddaughter is adhd and spectrum, she is 5-1/2 and kind of understands santa this year, first year. do you homeschool? her mother and i have doubts about her starting public school next year. The program is good but it seems so daunting for her to be with kids who are not like her. Have you looked into special schools (very expensive here).

Right now she goes to public school but in a special needs program. That will end next year and we really aren’t sure where to go from there. It’s something we worry about a lot. We live in a small rural town so there are no schools dedicated to special education

@thatdailymama5 күн бұрын
@ so glad you were able to get a diagnosis so early! I know so many struggle to access assessments. As for ABA I am def not in the “anti aba” crowd. I think it’s a valuable tool/science when used appropriately and with compassion and as much autonomy as possible. I’ve never been able to access ABA therapy for Leah since in Canada it’s not covered under most insurance and in my province it’s not funded by the government. Would I give it a try if we could afford it or had funding. Yes.

Hmm. My kids all did this… all of it. Not at all autistic. To any parents watching this who are concerned… please don’t be!! For some reason it’s become a flex or something to have a child diagnosed with something.
@thatdailymama5 күн бұрын
@@kathrynlouise8399 I think it’s pretty irresponsible to tell ppl not to ask questions about their child’s behaviour and missing milestones. Also I’m not sure how it’s a flex to have a kid that may never be independent and requires therapy that costs thousands a year and having to watch them struggle for basic communication. This life is hard and it’s not a game

I understand where your coming from, i also have friends with an autistic son, in the beginning they were in denial, when relatives tried to say something was wrong they didnt want to agree , which is understanable, no one wants their child to have a disability or illness like this , but in time they knew what they had to do, and yes he did have autism it was diagnosed and then they got the help needed , he has since grown up and working fulltime, and doing just fine. So chin up you are a gd person and clearly you care , just give it some time and try not to stress to much, they will eventually see and know what they must do .
