I feel like I’m either oriented aroace or Angled aroace. I have a hard time knowing if I’m romantically attracted to someone or not. Because I like the idea of romance but when it comes to irl and relationships I always seem to just prefer having a strong bond with them that’s not necessarily romantic. Like I want a romantic relationship and I like the idea of it, but when it comes to reality I just don’t know if I can feel romantically attracted. Like I would always get the ick when seeing romantic movies, but at the same time I can’t tell if what I want is romance or just a strong emotional bond with someone.

Thanks for posting this!So, I'm an I aroace, and I never thought I was on the aro spec till, like, a week ago. I've been in two relationships and have had three "crushes." The thing is, I knew what crushes were, and I did genuinely like those people, but in a different way. I would always want to be near them, and I'd want stuff like cuddles and hugs. But I'd never want to kiss or have intercourse with them. I just think it's disgusting. So, I basically knew I was 100% asexual, but I wasn't sure for aromatic. Again, I'd always want to he around those boys and to talk to them. I'd think about them a lot. But then I realized I did the same exact thing with those people to my friends. Then I made some connections, and realized that those "crushes" were really just those people gaining my trust and me wanting them to treat me how I treat them. So, yeah, if people manage to win me over and befriend me, I'll get really attached to them, but not to the point of making out. This also works with fictional characters as well. I've never had a crush on a fictional character, but I've always been extremely emotionally attached to them. That might've been and early sign. Oh yeah, and just to mention, I do like romance in, like, books, series, movies, and stuff. I think it's cute, and I like seeing my favorite characters happy. But what I don't understand is how someone could go red faced if their crush walked by. I also, for some reason, only like romance in fictional stories. Irl, it's confusing. So, yeah, there's my mini existential crisis vent! 😅

I don´t really know where I stand. I´m autistic and mostly can´t differentiate between platonic, romantic and sexual attraction at all, I don´t live it all out because of societal norms tho, therefore I guess idemromantic? But sexual attraction is in there too, so . Aesthetic attraction for example is a lot different to me. But I definitely do experience sexual and romantic attraction, therefore I don´t think I really belong under the (vague-)ace umbrella.

I want to correct you on a couple labels: aceflux, aroflux, and aroaceflux. -flux means that it goes between 100% attraction (allo) to 0% attraction (aro/ace/etc) Centrispec is when you are fluid between aspec identities. For example, being ace one day, then demi, and cupio, then allo. You can also be multiple at once, like demi- and fray- (maybe because you are demi towards girls and gray towards guys, or a different reason). So while -flux can only fluctuate between allo-, a-, or gray-, centrispec can be fluid between any aspec identities. Hope this helps! I don’t mean to be ‘mean’ by correcting you. I’m just sad many people misuse -flux and most people who better fit centrispec (like me) call themselves -flux because of the common incorrect definition. I am also salty that I’m one of the few people who know the distinction.
