Could be anything if it's moving to standby as that tells me several specs has been satisfied to close that operation and thus move into this mode. Loose wire, operator failure, or it's actually working correctly really. My main guess would be the air switch not seeing the unit or just guessing. If you have no lockout (very different from "standby") this really doesn't tell you why it went into standby as it's not a fault. This is why you should have an actual boiler operator employed to maintain this type of equipment or someone to call 24/7.

Work with those animals everyday! Branch is always used for damper and for a cooling vav with hot water valve you need to T the t from t stat to the actuator valve and end in the T of controller.

I run these displays and have the burner controller located near the burner to assist a technician when working on a burner issue. I also use the coms feature on the display to broadcast data to both the display on my operator touch screens and also to the PLC. This enables me to display the data on the operator touch screen and also report the burner status to the PLC. Having the data displayed on the

Sir, thanks for making the video. I have just installed a tankless water heater, and the county inspector where i live said that the regulator is missing freeze protection. I am not sure what he refers to. When I asked him for clarification, he said that there is a device that go into the vent. Can you please give me the proper name of the item that the inspector refers to. Thanks for your help.

No!! I am just seeing this post. We will miss you and Ken. I’ve followed you for so many years. Our paths crossed all the way back to when I use to purchase from stromquist when I worked for trane of Orlando in the early 90’s. You and Ken will be truly missed. Safe travels and God’s blessings in your life. Take care. Steve Adams

Wish you could have illustrated more how the diaphragm itself functions as part of the regulator's role in providing gas flow to the appliance. (The only reference you make to it is "and of course, the diaphragm." ) For instance -what causes the diaphragm to 'inflate' or 'deflate' -how the position of the upper plate governs the valve's opening -what may cause the diaphragm to fail & consequence(s) of that

According the the manual, "High Fire Interlock Switch failure to close during PREPURGE." That means it didn't close when expected to be at high fire, that simple. Conduct the 5 steps it states in the manual then consult a boiler tech that understands these things. Not knowing your actuator model or how it's high fire switch works is just a guess on youtube comments.

It would be nice to see how the base is wired for a 24 volt sensor? No one seems to want to show this. Is it a state secret or something?

@@EricStromquist I cut my teeth on ASI Controls (San Ramon, CA)… later we needed a LON product and sold Siemens Talon (Staefa) , but when Siemens dropped LON and our main customer required LON we started with Distech…now we are full Distech. Great product!

Wow Eric. Extremely interesting. Thank you. Having recently integrated to a lighting control system in a 5 story building I can say the lighting software was a disaster just as Michal described. It would have been cheaper to install my own occupancy sensors than the amount of time we spent sorting out the lighting points.

The above comment doesn't even factor in that jci was hacked on multiple levels recently. And being entirely honest, jci isn't the worst one of these automation companies. The very worst is siemens followed by the whole lot of trane, jci, honeywell....stay away and find a better career choice. Better options exist.

I can tell you why this industry struggles to attract talent. It is a shit industry. It begins with shit GC's and then transfers to shit mechanical contractors. The quality of the buildings are shit. The building automation contrators bid way too much work with no means of being able to complete it beyond 80%. The hours and pay are not worth the effort for the lack of respect and shit craftsmanship. Absolute shit career path. Avoid. 0/5 stars.
