Thank you. I’ve been fan of Lorne for a long time. Learned of him through my admiration for Ed Bickert and Bill Evans.

How is that called counterpoint when its just one single melody? I see all these single instrument videos with "counterpoint" on its titles but the available music theory in the web says counterpoint is just sumultaneous melodies in diffetent forms for a desired musical result (no specific). Chromaticism, even dissonance used So if its not modal, then not even modulation? What kind of counterpoint exactly are these musicians doing on one single instrument at once? (If you dont mind to explain) (Since there was no clear info found on the web search and even there was some weird AI diaturbance during the research)

Counterpoint to me is two or more voices having a conversation. The bass line is a melody also. When the bass is combined with a melody that is considered 2 part counterpoint. When another voice is added it then becomes 3 part counterpoint etc.

Masterful - Pure Melodies/Phrases/Counterpoint - All killer no filler;-) Would love to know what you’re using for strings. Sounds like flats - and super balanced across the whole register
@SteveHerbermanАй бұрын
Thank you 🙏 I’m using flats alright. D’Addario chromes jazz light gauge with a 12 on top swapped out.

@@hostileporpoiseoh hey Adam I didn’t realize it was you. I use a round wound low A .080 but strings 3-6 are flats.

@@SteveHerberman I was wondering about the 7. I tried a flat last month and really didn’t like it at all. I’ve been using a 74 for my 7
@SteveHerberman29 күн бұрын
@@hostileporpoise I did find one flatwould low A string that worked on my 7 string string Tele but alas that string was a TI prototype that they decided not to go into production with.
