The jack has to be able to slide inwards to compensate for thw vehicle's change in angle as the height increases.😂

2007 honda pilot rusted sway bar links..heat and breaker bar didnt move it. Cut bolts tip and bottom still couldnt punch out the remaining bolt!

My kobalt mid torque impact wrench destroyed my brand new scissor jack after the second time using it. It seized the scissor jack halfway down. Had to use a hydraulic jack to lift the car and get the damaged scissor jack out. Try using another drill of equal power as long as it's not an impact wrench.

Except when using the factory jack for emerg roadside tire changeouts, for maintenance I always look for solid areas under the vehicle for jacking. The factory designated points offer the best areas to lift. For jack stands used at those pinch welds, any adapter should both envelop the inch weld AND land on the reinforced areas above (on the rocker panel). Those rubber adapters sold everywhere are not safe and a pinch weld can easily cut through the material or tear when cockeyed causing the vehicle to fall down to at least the flats or saddle of the jack stand.

It’s much easier to do this job if you just lower and remove the spare tire. It’s also a great opportunity to check your spare tire pressure (60 psi).

7:05 Go to your dealer and have them order new sealing washers for the drain and fill bolt. Mine were copper, but pretty mangled, and the replacements were aluminum. The dealer will likely not have them in stock. Mine didn’t. On my 2016 Sorento with the 2.0 Turbo. The cover bolt gasket was 53084-39000. The drain was 21513-11000. Not the easiest to find in some of the on line parts diagrams. If the drain ends up seeping, it will be a lot of aggravation to go back and replace it later, and making the bolt tighter to try and stop it is a recipe for disaster. Don’t do it.

My son just last week had one of those "half" scissor jack fail and get his hand pin btween the car and jack. He was there for about 15 minutes untill someone had broke down and stop right behind him. I bought him a quality jack today. Now hes got to get a cable in his hand.

I just installed mine a week ago and checked it today and it was about that same amount, except mine didn't look a milky.

My 05 nissan semtra has ac but I lose lots of power when it's on and it's rattling bad. I thought it was my Trans or timing chain but once I drove with it off I realized it's my ac clutch making all that racket so I'm trying to figure out how to replace the ac clutch instead dof the entire unit.

I've never seen one that thick. The ones I have are half that thick, and the slot is only deep enough to locate it on the weld. But even on that one, if you trace the contact points and lines of force, it is still supported towards the middle of the jack platform.

Nice informative upload. I didn't know the black impact sockets flex. I thought they were harder than the standard chrome ones(you can learn something everyday if you have an open mind to receive). Now that I think of it, that makes sense because if was harder it would be more prone to breaking. I had a step uncle(rest His soul) who told me He once broke a impact socket tightening a bolt by hand! His buddies told Him when the last time He had some cooch! Lol. I am lucky as my dad was a mechanical and electrical engineer, plus woodworker and worked on cars, so after he passed away, he left me all his tools, and I have been learning how to use them like the Torque Wrench that I have to use for changing my lawn mower blades which require specific tightening torque force. He had so many weird sockets, some of them look like there are from Aliens or sci-fi movies, but little by little I have learned what they are for. Again, thank you so much for such great teaching video.

I bought a 5-speed forester with a bad transmission. Found a tow plug hanging out of the front bumper and came to the conclusion it was towed improperly for who knows how long.

Only problem with them things is they sit to close to the ground.

Freaking awesome! I’m about to pull the wife’s clutch on her ‘16 maxima. Got my fingers crossed the bearing comes off easy. I’ll take photos of the stater mount without the three screws. This kit has a second pin that looks like it fits the shaft grooves. Can’t find anyone’s video of the 2014-2020 version . Thanks for a great video!
