Generally, they are well built machines, but prone to failure due to heat mitigation. The best thing about them is the track point. Much better than a mouse or pad.

4 years later, this is still relevant with the pi 5. An old laptop has so much more. A hard drive, keyboard and touchpad, display, battery with charger, etc, etc, etc.

Is it with these keyboards that you need to send your config every time after disconnecting the keyb or power down PC?

These actually make REALLY fun retro-pie builds. The screen turns an old laptop into a portable retro/arcade gaming beast. And much larger viewing than the expensive 7" hdmi displays geared toward RPI's

There's no point in a RaspberryPi alternative if you're just going to put Windows on it.

Thanks man this was just the video I was looking for I've had this macropad forever but so I'm glad I can finally use it your video was very helpful. I had the same issue with it not showing the buttons in v1.0.1 but when you maximize the program it then it shows you the buttons to change any of the Key functions. Also in v1.0.1 the Send button brings down a menu where you have to click send again or you can use the shortcut Ctrl+S. Also thanks to rOzzy1987 for making the software

Here in south america raspberry pies are expensive as hell. With a third of the price of a raspberry pi 5 I bought a laptop that can run GTA 5. I'm thinking on transforming this laptop in a console with the Playnite interface. And they say the motivation of raspberry pi was to made computers accessible, what a lie

Hello everyone. Sorry for my English, this is a machine translation, as I am not a native speaker. I can't find any information about the second stick in PS1 games on PSP GO. The settings of the internal emulator itself do not support the second stick, and if you connect DualShock3, will it work there? Thanks

RPi is still essential for native ARM64 software development. Both Windows ARM and Linux ARM still don't have as much software support as their x86 counterpart.

If you were thinking about getting the raspberry pi 400, you could get a laptop with a broken screen and take the screen off and just use the laptop like that. You may have to pull the antenna out of the screen and find somewhere to route it inside the laptop but that's small fries. as much as this means, you can do this even with a brand new mac. beheading a laptop is very easy. apple laptops put their wifi antennas in the speakers so you don't even have to pull an antenna cable out of the screen or anything. just disconnect the screen and throw it away.

The thinkpad red/black design is just so good. I generally dislike all black laptops, so I buy the grey/black ones. But the thinkpad is an exception I would gladly make

The price for RPi's are really not worth the investment, same with MiniPC's. High cost, with low value in terms of compute, but for the dream of "Efficiency". So I believe that used thinkpads and hardwares are always great cost wise.

@farishanafiah8461 I've searched both local and online stores from new to refurbishers and they demand an absurd over-valued price. I can get a dell R630 ranging from free to 60$ compared to a mini PC, which are marketed as "Gaming mini PCs" while being old think stations or dell optiflex.

Bought my first ThinkPad a few weeks ago to use for work on my eBay business and programming journey using a 300 dollar best buy card i got as a safety bonus from work, I'm excited to try different operating systems down the line. I was also pleasantly surprised i could play ps2 games on an emulator with no lag unlike my previous laptops.

I still have my original 1000 from high school, but when I saw someone playing on a PSP Go in one of the break rooms when I was in the military, I went out of my way to find one. Ended up getting one used in 2010 for around $90. Instantly fell in love with it. Better battery life, nicer screen, bluetooth support... I bought the (now very expensive) dock and component video cables at around the same time. My PSP Go was stuck to my hip for most of my twenties and I used it as a portable and docked PS1 and PSP. I bought so many games through the PS Store. I still use it now, thanks to the SD card adapter and I thankfully never have to swap M2 memory cards again. The PSP is just such an amazing system and I'm glad there are still groups out there that give it love. I played so many RPGs and strategy games on it. And Peace Walker... one of the greatest games ever released on a portable system!

@@KingASE88 It's basically just a power and A/V passthrough for the Go. You can even plug in a regular PSP charger and the component cables, and you'll never have to worry about battery life while playing.
