I'm trying to learn how to fish out of the boat on the columbia. How do you go about it. Do you Anchor, spot lock with the trolling motor or just spin around in the back Eddies. Also that wind is no joke some days, how do you manage that when it comes to boat control.

We use a MinnKota Terrova with Auto Lock. Works great to keep the boat positioned in the back Eddys and runs.

I learned so much from this video! Thanks so much! I'm a righty, but as I understand it, you spin the dub/dubbingbrush in the opposite direction from your thread direction?

What exact outfitter did you go through and what was the name of the area you fished? Fished cayo Romano this past winter but want to do tarpon season this next year

This might be a silly newbie question, but isn't a slotted bead supposed to go on with the slot toward the back? Just wondering why this one has it flipped around?
@SFOTF
@SFOTF 8 күн бұрын
We used to reverse the slot to get a more balanced leech before head turner beads came out.

Love the video. Any new content coming out for the fall? I know it’s hard to release fall content during the fall due to how long it takes to film and edit. But even a short fall tactics video would be greatly appreciated. Cheers !

Just wondering why the bright, yellowy-green colour for the bead, rather than a more lifelike colour like...say... mottled blackish red.
@SFOTF
@SFOTF 15 күн бұрын
It’s well known that hot spots can attract fish and the chartreuse color bead seems to work very well on various patterns. Darker beads also work good, so try various color beads.

How do you fish 40 to 60' with a fly line? What lines are you using to do that? I'd like to see you guys film that technique on the lake in a future episode. Fly Fishing for trout in deep water over 30' deep.

Fishing Chironomids straight down using a type 7 full sink line and short leader (6ft of straight 10lb Fluoro). Many people call it ‘dangling’. Have dangled up to 80’ 🤩👌

Hi Alan, no color name given. Brent picked it up at a craft shop. It’s a Brown wool with claret highlights. A good substitute is Blood Leech Arizona Simi Seal.

Great 1 , 2 segments. Love seeing the underwater shots, it`s so interesting to see how they react and to be able to see what the bug life looks like underwater and how much stuff is actually in the water column. Love the education and it wouldn't hurt my feelings to see more of it. Thanks.
