Hi Andrew. Yeah, this video is slightly dated :) No need to install Azure commandlets today. This tutorial is no longer current. If you follow these steps as they are laid out here, don't expect it to work, especially if your IIS Mail server is hosted in Azure. (Outbound connections on port 25 blocked for the vast majority of subscriptions out there) If anyone knows of an updated tutorial please post a link. Thanks!

I am curious if SMTP relay will work for an old MFP/printer using TLS1.0 ? At 5:21 we checked the TLS encryption option, what version of TLS encryption will it use ?

I had a similar problem to you, following this video to the detail and emails wouldn't arrive, I read your comment about TLS and deactivate mine, and email started to work... idk if it's exactly the problem you had but I hope it help you somehow

It does work, but there must be a better way to use IIS to authenticate with the connector using a certificate and not the public IP since spamhaus will block all attempts if any of your machines in your network starts to send spam emails through this connector.

Although this is a marketing video for 365, I agree with the Google view. Having used both, Google Gsuite as it was know, is awful.

1:04 You still have to back up and have a disaster recovery plan. What if you're connections to the cloud drop? What if someone gains access to your cloud admin? Hybrid is always better and cheaper. Move to the cloud to get better flexible licensing they said (for us). Now Microsoft have changed the license model to be exactly the same as onsite so you have to pay yearly again. So no cheaper than onsite.

Just to correct the "small" and VERY confusing oversight, Yes, ALL users need to be licensed. Conditional Access like all Azure Premium offerings "should" be assigned on a per-user basis to work as intended.

I cannot find if there are any limitations for using this as a mail relay. I work for an electric utility and we have between 6000-7000 people that want their bills emailed to them. We email subscribers twice per month (3 times for the ones that are late). Our billing server generates the emails and relies on a separate mail relay server. But I don't want to attempt this if there is a maximum number limit that is below our potential. Great video though!
