Time out! Flag on the play. Minute 6 Yo. After all that build up and exclusivity about banging that hot beeeyotch out after being on fire and you do not even show the money shot. What up Yo?

That stand acts like a spring and absorbs the blows from the hammer. You had the right hammer and the fire trick. But you should have laid the block on the ground and beat on the piston with a few hard blows. We all have set backs when working on engines. I couldn't get an exhaust to bolt up to a header once. I had to sit back and think about it. Took the header off the block loosely bolted it to the exhaust and the block where they could all wiggle together. Then bolted them all up at the same time. That worked.

So fire in the hole is just gonna expand the piston as well as the block so many things wrong here. Good try get your chisel and finish honing the cylinder😂

Put diesel on the top of the piston for a week. (Or a month.) then use a wooden block(end wood) that sticks out a little more than the combustion chamber is. put back the cylinder top, tighten the four surrounding cylinder top bolts and the piston will move down. wiggle it up and down with hammer. use thin oil or diesel. finally it will come all the way. To use heat can do the trick, but I would think twice since the cooling water is not there and heat can make serious damage to the cylinder block.

Well, this video was strangely the “only” pre-97 Cherokee interior bulb replacement tutorial I could find, so a big Thank You. But, I’m still curious how I go about getting the 4 lens covers removed from the overhead console to replace the map lights. You talk about how you did it, but the lens cover you remove has already been dislodged at the button when we see it; and that’s my issue with my Briarwood. I tried prying from atop the button, but none of the 4 covers will come off (with any ease). I feel like I’m just about to break them. Can you comment exactly how you went about prying them all off; or better yet, upload a video of you tackling the lens cover, from the very start? They’re the only bulbs for me to replace, and I just don’t want to break anything. I ASSUME that’s there’s just one small centered tab at the black button section of the lens cover; and you push in, then down to open it… Confirm?

I’m going to try and take down the console entirely. I’ll let you know how that goes… Doesn’t state how to remove it in the manual.

THis is nice. The original mirrors are like having dental mirrors attached to the side. They're ridiculous. Been wanting to upgrade these for awhile, just didn't know if I could.

I've used a propane torch to remove stuck bolts and nuts. Even worked on salt water eye bolts to anchors. They go 'tink' and that's the sign it has started popping loose. Would a torch work on the piston and cylinder the same?

Is there anything stopping a guy from bolting the main leaf from the s10 into the Xj frame? From a quick measurement it looks like it should fit but I know everyone cuts the eyes off and leaves the main leafs in place. Just that my leafs are soo worn out.

Good job dude! I love making stuff work that others give up on! The 400 is actually really easy to get to be a strong running motor. Jon Kasse was asked how to get 400 horse power out of one of these... he says easy! Just ad 3 C’s. compression, cam and carburetion. Then pull off plug wires till you get there lol.

The next time you have this problem, use brake fluid before any other penetrating oil...brake fluid will seep into places most penetrating oil won't...give it a try.

I don't think you even needed to light it on fire... what you do is if you stick your rod down in there and you use some rags to hold it in position that way you can put two hands on your sledgehammer and actually swing it... not just lift it up and let it fall. you weren't swinging the hammer Bud. that was the wimpiest swinging of a sledgehammer I've ever seen. With that little Sledgehammer you should have been able to break that piston right out of that bore.... done it many of times myself. They always come out in pieces long as they're not forged then it takes something pointed.

100 better ways to do this, better off heating the block then cooling the piston but risk cracking something. All you did was break the rusty bind by expanding the cylinder, the piston expansion didn't help. Most people use heat on bolts to expand them and cause the rust bind to break, or expand the nuts so there is more space to move the debris past it. If you heat up the inside part, you still have to wait for it to cool down before tryin to break it free.
