My cap and housing cracked. And I used a torque wrench to tighten it to spec. So I’m trying to find a good replacement that’s not plastic. :-(

Oil the o ring and run a pick along it so it sits good in its place.

Just had this problem this past Monday. It was my o-ring and I have similar mileage on my Ram as well.

If it’s from the top of the filter housing it is likely an O ring issue if it’s coming from the lower area of housing it’s likely your drain pitcock assembly

The reservoir has a floating magnet in it, that magnet is what completes the circuit via a magnetic field around the sensor when it’s in the proper position. The sensor goes up inside a plastic tube built into the reservoir and is kept separate from the coolant so it isn’t exposed to the coolant. The magnet has a hole in the center of it like a donut and goes around the plastic tube and moves up and down in accordance with the coolant level. Hope that makes sense.

Had this problem. My old o ring was inside and I put a new one on and it wasn’t closed right 😅 figured it out after 4 tries.

Use motor oil on the threads and o ring before putting the cap on. The oil lubricates the treads and ring to help it seal and spin on better

O ring sits n the bottom of the bowl threads not the cap. When I first did mine it had the same issue and found out the o ring doesn’t go into that slot on the cap. It actually sits on the bowl at the bottom of threads

@@gangshitsac4166 the only thing I could see was that the threads on the unit and the cap both were messed up a little but I would think that the o-ring would have still sealed it up
