Considering most of the wax seems to have been absorbed into the wood. I would say no. I made a similar fire starter, in a very small batch, and burned it all because it burned so nicely., with very little residue. Technically it was no residue but I was burning it as a test and saw only ashes when it was completely burned. There are numerous fire starters on the market. Waxwood, Fatwood, and wax infused cotton are my favorite. I like waxwood because it is easy to process, while fatwood burns hotter.

I have 4 vines and have not seen any growth of new shoots. Even if the vines touch the ground they don’t seem to be able to grow roots.

Those look really handy 👍 I have a quart jar of elk tallow that is super hard at room temp and no good for cooking, I wonder if it would work as well as wax does

Probably a bit late, but the flashpoint for tallow is nearly 120° higher so I’m not sure it would work as well as paraffin

Yes, I will do a video in February when I prune the vine. It put on a lot of extra growth this summer and is trying to take over too much space, so it will definitely get a haircut.

The flowering plant in the first few seconds is oregano. It grows like mint and comes back every year. It’s one of my favorite plants for bringing in the pollinators.
