I don't think you should be filling that much lube in the gearcase. It should be level when filling. It's only supposed to be to the vent level.

Touch the end of the braid line to the spool arbor, then place a drop or two of superglue there, wait 30 seconds or so, then start reeling up your line. I do this for everything from ultralight to big surf reels and never had any slippage.

Definitely an ultra light/light action rod. Dobyns sierra series trout/panfish rods are good to pair with a smaller vanford size reel like a 1000 or 2000

it depends on the type of fishing u do! I recommend anything from phoenix rods but especially the elixir if u are doing mini jig fishing! Diawa and Shimano also have good rods

Points at the mouths of major creeks are definitely a good starting point, if you’re throwing topwater specifically you should know within a few casts if there are active fish, if not move to the next point
