Does this connector work for a folding and a rigid chair? Or do you need a different connector for different chair styles? Thank you
@countrycorner16
@countrycorner16 Ай бұрын
Hi Wendy, these style work with any rigid front chair, so a folding chair with a solid front down to the footplate where it is hinged on one side and flips up but these style wont be safe at high speeds if fitted to a folding chair where the fronts detach, there is a new style of connector about to be released which connects just under the front of the seat, which, once I've got here, will make another video of.

My partner is disabled and here in Germany we have to book the equivalent of "travel assist" which is ninety nine percent excellent. because of low platforms high trains in Germany we get a hydraulic lift system so I get in one door with the bags and my partner gets lifted into the other door. You do need a trained operator so sometimes we have to alter our itinerary to get the assistance.

I'm curious as to how well this would handle an unsealed woodland path with tree roots? The ground camera footage looks quite bumpy, but does it feel a bit smoother than it looks? I'm also curious as to whether the handlebar height can be changed? It looks like you're having to reach quite high up. I'm considering getting this one, because I really want to be able to do hilly woodland walks again but I'm unsure really of what the practical limitations are of an add on like this? I've never had a power ad on before or have anywhere local that would allow me to test it, and it's a lot to spend if it doesn't do what I hope it might do! Would appreciate any advice!

Hi Laura, the little gimbal strapped to the side of my chair frame doesn't have the benefit of the 'squish' of our air tyres, so it looks bouncier than it rides 🙂. I've done an unsealed woodland trail with roots and it managed just fine - see 7mins 10secs on this video - kzbin.info/www/bejne/j6rOfnmIg9Jofrc. The handlebars can be altered up or down and on the next video you can see I have set the handlebars much lower - see 1min 22secs on the video kzbin.info/www/bejne/gJysnXV5mZ2LfNk Any other questions, just fire away. (Off to make a video of how the trike handles damp sand today - watch this space 🙂)

Hello, how is the power of the Q6 the 250W motor seems small even compared to the Q5's 300W motor and other chinese electric add ons with 350 to 500W motors about, does it feel under powered?
@countrycorner16
@countrycorner16 2 жыл бұрын
Hi, sorry for delay, a few messages have escaped me. I find the 250 watt motor ends up faster than the Q5 because the wheel is bigger and not much slower than the 400 watt Q1s because the Q1s are heavier, therefore have to tow more weight.

Hey really cool product I love the emergencys stop button. I was wondering if you can go do wheels for going up curbs with it on? And would it be the end of the world if you dident use the free wheel on the front at the same time?
@countrycorner16
@countrycorner16 2 жыл бұрын
Hi, yes, you can wheelie as you approach a kerb, as the drive unit is hinged and you will then travel up the kerb but make sure you are adept at pulling that wheelie and can get the timing right otherwise you may find yourself turning into a human cannonball :-))
@countrycorner16
@countrycorner16 2 жыл бұрын
Not the end of the world if you use the drive unit with no front wheel to raise your small casters up but at speed, I didn't find it relaxing to have to scan the ground ahead to ensure I wasn't in danger of a front caster catching on anything uneven and, once again, turning into a human cannonball :-)) For smooth surfaces like shopping centres and smooth paths it's an excellent piece of kit but many places we wheel are not smooth, so as I like to bowl along fast, I add a front wheel so I can relax and enjoy the ride :-)
@LittlePetal91
@LittlePetal91 3 жыл бұрын
Great video. May I ask, when this is on "medium" or "fast" mode, do you still have control via the wheelchair wheel to slow the chair down for, say, someone walks in front of you or you need to slow down a little bit for kerbs? Or do you need to keep switching between the speed modes?! Also when you say about going downhill and putting into "Park" mode, does that declutch the QDrive so the wheel just rolls? So you're basically just using your normal chair really? Very interested, but can't decide between this with a freewheel or the Q7! Thanks!
@countrycorner16
@countrycorner16 3 жыл бұрын
Hi, putting it in 'park' or hitting the red button both disengage the motor and you are then freewheeling with no motor assistance at all until you either turn the knob out of 'park' or if you've hit the emergency stop button, you'll have to release that before you'll be able to get any power. It's easiest to hit the red stop button if someone steps in front of you and then grab your wheels to stop from freewheel or 'neutral'. To get power back, just turn the red button out of it's 'off' position but make sure you're not in high speed, unless you're ready for the 'OFF' :-))))

This was a speed test, I stopped going downhill, to sort the camera, so not losing traction and the other times, was either waiting for traffic or testing the very sharp new brakes, never lost traction in this video, do in some others where it's very steep and gritty going :-) There is a newer 12" wheel version which I will be making a replacement video of for this one, so, watch this space :-)

Hi, I've found the 12" wheel the best for traction and getting into smaller spaces like shops and platform lifts into van and on a bus. I've had these 400watt motors pull a combined weight of me, my chair and my adult daughter on my lap, so totalling 29 stone, up a slight incline to Stonehenge! Amazing piece of kit.

Looks like a major improvement over the Q5. From a personal point of view I would want my castors a bit higher off the ground and the wheel a bit closer to the footplate. That should give it a bit more traction and a smaller turn radius. Well done on the video. The noise on the drum brake should settle down after a bit of use.

I’m not sure how easy these are to un hook but to get through the gate to of unbhooked the trike self propelled into gate gap without the trike attatched and led the trike on the floor then swung the gate round ? I’m not sure that makes sense it does in my head 😂 but like removing the trike so the wheelchair is normal size
@countrycorner16
@countrycorner16 4 жыл бұрын
The trike is easy to undock from but then you'd have had to manhandle the trike through on it's stand, the easier solution I found and didn't realise, was most of these gates have a RADAR loo key (UK), that opens it up for normal gate access. 34 years in a chair and still learning :-)

Can you reverse with the trike on ? Is if you got stuck can you reverse over so bit of dry sand so the back wheels get you through
@countrycorner16
@countrycorner16 4 жыл бұрын
You can reverse with the trike on but if the sand is really dry and deep, you won't get far enough to get stuck :-) if worse comes to the worse and I tried it, I just used both hands on the wheels and pulled back as you would without a trike on - I now use chunky mountain bike tyres on chunkier wheels, vast improvement and it keeps you up out of sinking as I did with the narrow tyred wheels.

Hey. What is faster Q1 10? Q2 16? And what is more suitable for big hills, so that the wheel does not spin? ps. I also recommend handbikes, range up to 100km with 4 limb paralysis :) People with efficient hands do 170km :)

Hi, they both go pretty much the same top speed with the Q1-10" just pipping the top speed as less weight and she sure beats the 16" wheel of the Q2 who spins merrily on steeper hills with loose footing. I've been using the Q1-12" out on a new route I'm taking over heathland with loose tarmac trails and the Q2 struggled uphill last week, took the Q1-12" today and apart from one place where I traversed for a few feet, she didn't spin about like the Q2 did last week! :-)

@@countrycorner16 Thank you. The difference may also be because the Q1 12 has as much as 500w and a wide tire, in Poland I see only the weaker version Q1 10 400 watts, Q2 16 also has 400wat :) Generally Q1 I like it more, it is more versatile :) and to the supermarket and light terrain :) Greetings

They sure are Ash and it tackles far more tricky terrain then I ever imagined! AliExpress - that's where I first saw them early last year, now I deal direct with the manufacturer and bring them in in lots of ten as it's virtually impossible to buy one and have it flown home as airlines won't carry items with lithium batteries over 100 watt hours (goes up to 300 Wh if you're flying with it), so they have to go by boat and you need to fill a 1 metre shipping box within a company shipping container which is what I now do with shared loads with interested people in the UK, all handled by my shipping broker, from leaving the factory to turning up on my door and I then send on to the purchasers in the UK. Have a look at my website and linked Facebook page if you want to join in on a shipment. countrycornercycles.uk/
