Hi Nick, I wanted to order my own supplies to make my first piece, but I was wondering if I should get hard solder paste or easy solder paste or if this didn't really matter. Thanks in advance!

Hi Nick, thank you for your videos they are extremely clear and useful. I wanted to get into making jewelry aswell and i was wondering how much wire goes into a chain like this? Will I have enough with 1m? or do I need 2m? (also do you know the length of the chain ended up being?) Thanks in advance!
@Nickscreativestuff4 күн бұрын
Hi Mark, this 18inch chain has a weight of just over 30g. When working backwards by using cooksongold’s material calculator, 30g of 1.3mm silver wire will measure 2250mm. So to achieve this chain with a little leeway and wastage I would suggest you need at least 2.5m of wire. good luck with your adventures into this fabulously satisfying recreation … N

That was awesome! Thank you so much for this easy-to -follow demonstration. I’ve been at a standstill: there’s no way I can afford the expensive models, and the more affordable models, like your mill, worried me. What if it breaks due to cheaper construction, etc. Do you mind me asking how long you’ve had it and if it’s giving you any problems? Thanks so much, and happy holidays to you
@Nickscreativestuff14 күн бұрын
Hi Jeannie, as a hobbyist I’m a great believer in a cheap tool is better than no tool. Over the last 10 year's I’ve had great use out of this mill without any problems. it’s obviously not as powerful as a machine that can cost 4x more so you need to check its specifications and capabilities but it’s a very functional mill with all its interchangeable rollers. knowing it’s a budget mill I never overexert it and just take it slowly, however I have produced a lot of wire using it … N

What hardness wire do you use? Do you recommend de-ox sterling medium hard?
