You are an inspiration. I have a 1974 in good shape. it runs good with good compression in all cylinders. I worry about what I will do if it fails. What caused the cylinder on your engine to fail? Where did you get new pistons and rings? Did you put any other new parts on the powerhead?

Thank you, I don’t know exactly because I bought it like that but everything kind of points to the previous owner removing the thermostat which caused the block to run cold but the pistons running hot. That or the thermostat was stuck closed and caused the motor to over heat then it was removed after the fact. Pistons, rings, and seal kit was ordered from my machine shop. However I see them online everywhere so it can still be done. Everything is new or rebuilt, fuel pump, power unit, carbs, trim motor, Etc.
