This poem was included in our school curriculum, but I had no idea that I would eventually choose English Literature, and here we are! Indira ma'am's analysis gave me the opportunity to see this poem in a new light and depth. It brings me great joy to once again stumble upon this lovely poem and recall the good ol' times in school.

Great opening line!!!.. The poetic letter shows a prisoner who can feel differently from the external circumstances around him in prison…so sad that he thinks grief is short-lived in the 20th century what with so much of violence and wars …thanks for introducing this poem Ma’am

This poem is so dear to me because it was my dad's favourite. " Let the dead Past bury its dead" ..let bygones be bygones was his motto too. My favourite lines of course are footprints on the sands of time and " heart within, God overhead". This truly was a gem

One of my favourite poems. Every verse is a quotable nugget of inspiration and i I know everyone of them by heart. Good work, Indira bringinging them into the light for today’s generation.

Very nice. Very positive messages to live life as it is and not getting too philosophical; in a poetic conversation between the psalmist and the reader. A rare piece of work, nicely brought out by Dr. Indira Nityanandam. The video clipping is of a very good quality, content is well structured and the content itself is excellent and uniquely presented as a poetic conversation. The lines, "And departing leave behind us, Footprints on the sands of time." are so meaningful. I did hear them a few times before, but those who cite the lines, don't cite the name of the author unfortunately. Happy to know that it's Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Excellent piece of work. Best Wishes in continued 'saahitya parisodhana / anveshana' of English literature that I think is close to you. 💐 Kindly regards

The poem certainly reminds us of the oft quoted lines of footprints on the sands of Time"".I view the poem at two levels. ..the first one is the carpe diem perspective where one lives for the moment enjoying lifein all its fullness. The other is the philosophical level..the Gita's message of doing one's duty leving the rest to God

Beautiful poem by Lird Tennyson and a very interesting recitation and illustration.
