@@benjiesanguir8762 yesss I hated her thankfully zhen huan reminded her of her place and punished her . I hated an lingrong I couldn’t stand her . She was so sneaky conniving and vicious . Acting all nice and gentle but is a snake behind everyone’s back . I couldn’t wait to see her downfall . If an lingrong worked on herself and loved herself more she could’ve probably ended up a consort but jealousy ruined her .

Unfortunately the eng sub I found were terrible and it was hard to put 2 and 2 together and understand the story after a certain point

Basically, Longkado and the previous dowager empress were intimate. The dowager empress used him to secure her son to the throne which in turn secured Longkados position. What she failed to realize is that the emperor saw the both of them being intimate which made him insecure and paranoid. This paranoia led to the death of empress dowager and Longkado. Also bear in mind that the empress dowager was in love with Longkado. ( like Zhen huan and 17th prince). Also keep in mind that the dowager empress was very cold towards her son which led to many insecurities when it comes to love.

@@sebastiaanbenilia8239 Consort Li or An Lingrong lost favor because of her father being involve with receive bribes and being involved with traitors. He's a merchant and should not have relied on his daughter's favor to commit treason and other crimes. Furthermore, consort Li got pregnant despite knowing that she could not keep the baby (she took musks and other drugs to stay thin (for regaining fsv or using ice skating skills) and to not get pregnant as instructed by the empress). In order to save her father, the empress instructed for An Lingrong to get pregnant. The pregnancy is unstable and the baby will not be able to be born. The empress instructed consort Li to blame Zhen huan or noble consort Xi. An Lingrong relied on aphrodisiac perfume hidden in plants to lure the emperor despite her pregnancy. She was told not to have rough sexual intercourse with the emperor as it would harm the fetus. One night, after more than 3 months had gone by, the emperor came to visit her to spend the night. Knowing that her fetus was unstable, Lingrong refused his advances tactically but the emperor forced her hand saying that he would not visit her in the future if she denied him. Because of the aphrodisiac, the emperor and An Lingrong had rough sex which caused the latter to miscarry her fetus. The emperor blamed himself for the death of his child but thanks to Zhen Huan and co. It was demonstrated that An Lingrong killed her own child through aphrodisiac as well as other plots such as the musk in Zhen Huan's scar cream which caused her to miscarry her fetus years ago. The emperor confronted An Lingrong who went "insane with grief" and she vented her grievances including the fact the the emperor sees her as a pet and not a lover. She is spared from death but is under house arrest and punished daily for her crimes (slapped). On the day of her father's public execution, An Lingrong is tired of living her life worse than death and so she asks to speak to Zhen Huan and asks for bitter almonds. An Lingrong confesses to Zhen Huan empress. kill the empress. (it was worded in a childish word puzzle that basically meant the current empress killed the former first empress Chunyuan (the empress's older half-sister who was the daughter of the main wife. The empress is the daughter of a concubine and was mistreated) then Lingrong kills herself through eating bitter almonds. (They contain a lot of cyanide, a deadly poison). Her name was Consort Qi or Qi Pin, Pin by rank. She was bratty and annoying consort who was acting cute to gain emperor's affection. She later sided with Empress Ulanara Yixiu and schemed against Zhen Huan on behalf of empress.
