is the complete kit available? I only see plans for 3D printing, unfortunately I dont have a 3d printer.

Hi Chris…it’s a great idea but….does the slide out deck and the jointer move from side to side when jointing and putting weight on the wood? The drawer slides look flimsy. I was hoping you were going to demo towards the end on how it’s handling the weight. I thought about doing that same thing under my miter saw station.

Hey Bob, happy to help if you have any questions!
@bobhobbs936928 күн бұрын
my question was going to be to you was the same one I asked your major competitor who found out his dust control was easy to break by pieces of wood jamming up in the 3D printed adapter so back to you do you have any feedback or complaints about the one you make easily breaking or busting my pieces of off cut wood flying up in it
@benchtopwoodworks28 күн бұрын
The forces involved are definitely extremely high and hard to design around. Unlike my competitor, I use a material that can survive repeated blows from a hammer. I had a lot of early feedback and set out to test nearly EVERY material until I found my current one.

Not all that different from my own tool collection. However my tool collection goes much much further with plumbing, electrical and my own HVAC tools. I had everything he did with the exception of the brace and ratcheting screw drivers. My father was a home builder post WW2 thru the mid 60’s. By osmosis and observation of my father I learned many tradesman skills. They have served me well over the years. Not much I haven’t done or tried.

I promise I try to consider all factors in my pricing... and your feedback is something I will certainly read/ consider it.

I should have designed it like yours, with 2 sets of slides. I'm going to have a drill press, a miter saw, a planer, and a small compressor in the same 4 foot bench.

Thanks for the tour and ideas, hope you and yours are well. Fellow vet here, I served at the tail end of when most bases still had craft/wood shops. So I didn't have to purchase & move as much as is required now, still it accrues LOL. I had a garage shop after I retired and now at age 66 and, I hope, my last move, I have a garage wood shop and 24 X 28' metal shop. Quick question, have you thought about putting your miter saw on parallel lifts? I use mine a fair amount, but bench top space is always a juggle. Easy access/storage is my goal. Dating myself, typewriter desks were still common in the '80s. I just got one from Craig's List to rob the lift mechanism out of, but I've also seen gas lift cylinders used for heavy appliances. Thanks for your time.

I just got done installing on my Dewalt saw. You done good Chris, this is brillant. As you stated in the last step of the directions, it is not perfect (due to the design of the saw), but it is a huge, huge improvement. I wish the best for you and your family recovering from the fire. Carry on my friend, and thank you for coming up with this design.
