I always want to get a feel of the whole event. Not just one area. I used an insta360 Ace Pro on a stick. The first two videos I accidentally had the wind reduction on that's why it sounds a little blurry but then I fixed it by the last one.

I was diagnosed at 58 with Prostate cancer. Because it is low level cancer, I been under active surveillance. I sought two other opinions and they have agreed. I am 63 today. I have lost weight, more exercise and PSA remains under 4. Have had another biopy and MRI and tumors have not grown. Thanks for video. Its important that you dont sit back and let DR make decisions for you. Get informed. You know your body best. There are new treatments out there. If mine grows, I will just have it removed. Thats what they would have recommeded several years ago, but now active surveillance is the way to go if its low graded. Thanks for your story.

I'll be on active surveillance for the rest of my life also. What I also left out on the video was that they took a special test. In that test, the DNA of the biopsy put it more at a Gleason 7 even though the biopsy showed a Gleason 6. I didn't want to take any chances, even though a Gleason 6 you probably wouldn't do much with

Hey David thanks for sharing your experience. I'm 68 and had a 7.4 on my psa. Had the random biopsy with 2 out of 16 positive. My doctor recommended active survailance. I'm wondering why you didn't go that route?

Most likely, because of your age. Prostate cancer is very slow, so usually by the time you're close or over 70, they will just have active surveillance because they figure you would die before the cancer kills you. I was 49 when diagnosed, and now I'm 52, so that wouldn't apply to someone as young as me. What was your Gleason score?

My gleason is a 6. Had a blood test last week and my psa has dropped by .4 . Don't know what that means but I think it's better than going the other way. I always though that prostate was a slow growing cancer but I don't think that is always the case. Still trying to get educated.

@Craig Wagner in the video I explained that I had a 5.9 and then went down to a 5.3 and then back up to a 5.7. That's called a normal shift. It's not an exact science so sometimes that number could change a little. That's why I explain take a more than one PSA test just to make sure.

No. I don't have too. They removed the cancer and it didn't spread, so there would not be any reason for that

Excellent advice on not getting a random biopsy, and going for the 3T MRI with in-bore biopsies. I have read good things about Dr. Sperling too, and focal treatment is the way to go if you're a candidate. Very useful video, thanks for posting this.
