you seen the M5 Competition LCI? 2021+ models. That car is a beast it definitely outperforms the G80, 0-62 in 2.8s usually. I'm stuck between the two as both cost the same here in the uk. Thoughts? Only thing steering me in the G80 direction is the cheaper insurance
@nate10n3 ай бұрын
Indeed that thing is a beast hands down. I love the M5 CS because it also has the bucket seats in the rear and I don't believe anyone else in the market is doing that. As for the LCI M5 Comp vs G80 this is a hard choice, but here's my thoughts: Performance: If you're looking for straight line performance hands down the M5 no question ask. But if you're looking more for a well rounded car that is quick and nimble (compared to the M5C), G80 takes the win here. The G80 is roughly 3-400 lbs lighter I believe and is a shorter wheelbase car. I see the M5 as more of the luxurious family sports car. Throw the kids in the back and hit a dig when the light turns green. One thing to also point out is overall maintenance cost in the long run. The G80 will be cheaper for parts/repair. With a tune the G80 will be just as fast in the straight line especially if you get AWD. Sound: S63 beats the S58 sound wise. It's not even a comparison. You either love or hate the inline 6 raspiness sound. This can always be improved with a single mid. M5 on the other hand... that v8 screams and pops. Looks: The M5 has the more traditional frontend with the kidney grills that just screams BMW. G80 has a very menacing look especially if you get it in a darker color. I've received many compliments from people and when told it's a BMW, they're surprised. Granted this was before when it first came out. Things are different now since there's many M440i on the road that has the big grill style design as well. At the end of the day, it comes to your current lifestyle. If you have a family to take around, taller/bigger person, or just want to mob around like a boss I would go with the M5, you will not be disappointed. If you are don't have a family, likes to hit the canyons, and likes modding your car, then I would go with the G80.
@nitrolz89933 ай бұрын
@@nate10nI would more or less agree with everything here. The M5 seems like it would make you feel like a boss driving around. Thing is, I’m 21 and in the uk my insurance per year for a G80 is £3500 around. But, as for the m5 I can’t even get insurance, and the one quote I seen was 18,000£ a year… so looks like it’s the G80 for me. I love the muscular m5 look and sound. G80 won’t disappoint for sure as the car I’ll be upgrading from is a 2021 118i
@nate10n3 ай бұрын
Bro at 18,000£/year that is insane. You legit can get a commuter/daily with that. Better yet, use that to get some nice mods for the G80. That's a big step up from the 118i. And at 21 and getting a G80, that's a big accomplishment. Circle back with me when you do! Excited to see what spec you end up getting.

Thank you! This one is a RWD. When I was in the market for one, the AWD was slowly being released and the mark up was insane. On top of that, there wasn't many with Carbon Bucket seats either at the time. Depending on where you live, AWD would make more sense. Here in Cali we don't see too much rain, so RWD is more than capable for spirited driving and traction control is very good. If I were to buy another one at this point in time, I would go for an AWD. No regrets with the RWD at the end of the day.

That's definitely a hard decision to make for sure. How I would look at it is that buckets seats can always be put in. You just need to find someone looking to swap with cash on top.You can't really swap out the RWD for an AWD system. Have you sat in the bucket seats before? If not, that's a good starting point, because you'll be able to tell if it's comfortable for you or not. That will make the decision much easier if not. Waiting sucks, but at least you know you'll get the perfect spec for you. The option for individual color is always a plus as well.

what do i get a m3 or m4
@nate10n4 ай бұрын
Really depends what you're looking for. Coupe vs Sedan. The M4 will definitely look more sporty because of the sloping roofline and 2 doors, but the M3 in my opinion looks more aggressive due to the rear fenders. I believe they're practically identical in terms of measurements. The M3 will be much more practical because you do have 2 rear doors. I think if you have the chance to sit in both side by side, you'll be able to figure out which one works better for you. That's what I did and felt the M4 was a bit too long for me personally.
@loggy78884 ай бұрын
I pray when I get mine I don’t get the brake squeak. It seems hit or miss from what I read and I can’t tell if it’s just because people aren’t cleaning their wheels properly and possibly leaving just some dust is still caked onto the rotor/brakes. Ceramic coating the wheels will help some but ultimately different brake pads to lessen the dust should help. I plan to get dravit and silverstone(non buckets) as well. I’d look into using Colourlock Leather cleaner and leather protector when you clean. With just water and microfiber you’ll end up essentially sanding the ceramic coating off your leather. With the colourlock products, you’d essentially just add more sacrificial layers on top to preserve the coating and protect the seats longer.
@nate10n4 ай бұрын
I spend a good amount of time cleaning my wheels and using products to remove the brake dust, but it still comes back after a while. It hasn't been too bad lately because I did the hard stop method a few times. But honestly, with the windows up and music playing, you don't really hear it as much. I'll give Colourlock leather cleaner a try. You do make a good point about essentially sanding down the ceramic coating with just water & a microfiber towel. I can see it being a big issue if you applied a lot of force while cleaning. I try to be as gentle as possible, but the sacrificial layers makes more sense to me. Good looking.

Thanks for the video and the next video! Do you have a video on the alpine install in the car physically? Did it fit behind the head unit? Would you recommend the alpine with the power Acoustik cp71-w? I just installed that myself. Would this alpine be OK if I upgrade my door speakers and install the 2 lower ones behind the seats? Thanks for everything!
@nate10n5 ай бұрын
No video at this moment, the alpine didn't fit behind the head unit. I wouldn't want to put it behind there because if you want to adjust the gains on the alpine, you would need to remove the whole deck. I ran it to the back of the trunk. I would always recommend an external amp vs built in head-unit amp. The reason for this is that it gives better power output, the sound quality will be better with a cleaner signal, and you can always fine tune the external amp to your liking. I find that usually head units are responsible for so many features, that the manufacture main priority isn't the amp. It's just a basic requirement most of the time to get some juice into the speaker for users not running a separate amp. While most of the time it will be better at powering your stock speakers compared to an OEM head unit, but it will not be anywhere near capable of a stand alone amp. The Alpine unit is rated at 45w rms x 4 at 4 ohms, so it shouldn't be an issue with handling a total of 4 speakers running at 4 ohms pushing out a max output of 45w rms. Amp choice will vary depending on the type of speakers you plan on installing. Hope this helps and let me know if you have any other questions.
