@@34sniper Taka can sing extremely well in both English and Japanese. I am Japanese so I cannot tell but the native English speakers would likely agree that he can sing songs in English impressively well. However, I doubt that his English lyrics will resonate with the Anglophones and that they think his lyrics poetic and beautiful. He is just describing one part of the song at a time without integrating them as a whole beautifully. All the pieces are in the song, but the lyrics by itself is basic, if not too unambiguous at a time. He opens up the song with a story as metaphor, and then this metaphor just ends in two lines without ever coming back. He mumbles along and then he asks ‘Is this our last dance?’ without ever developing a dance as central metaphor in the song, even though ‘last dance’ is the title. He comes up with ideas in the song and just put them together without much metaphor, rhythm and rhyme. I may be asking too much for a Japanese singer song writer to do this in English, but he is an exceptionally talented singer and some of Anglophone friends, critics can and should improve his English lyrics. He should at least consult with some other Anglophone professional song writers. For example, the narrative and story of this song is similar to those of the following songs: Bruce Springsteen: The river. Adele: Hello. These lyrics by themselves are poetic and beautiful, and easy to imagine the senary of these songs. Taka can sing beautifully well a mediocre lyrics like a gospel song. That is why I was surprised to read this rather poor lyrics. Any case, other people may think this lyrics is beautiful but I do not. Here are some lines of that can improved, or that I think sound odd. "You know we can't wait here forever Just making time and going nowhere Can we take another chance To be alone together still Are we wasting time chasing dreams? Not yours or mine Care for you I always will We can try to keep the love from fading 'Cuz all we have a reasons to be gone Remember when you used to make me smile But lately I don't feel the same Look up and I see your face I can see you looking back at me Every time I think it's getting better Just making time and going nowhere"

not to be rude but I think this comment is no longer applicable. there are a lot of K-pop vocalists who have horrendous English but somehow still find success abroad. Taka, even though he has an accent, I think it adds more to the experience and allows for a different feel compared to other Asian singers.
