Kendrick is talking about past lives. He is describing a musician who became famous but had a hard time with fame. The first person I think he was talking about was Chuck Berry, a famous early R & B musician. The woman I think was Dinah Washington who died of qualude overdose.

The original was Marvin Gaye and Tammy Wynett in the 60s the best version. Luther and Cheryl in the 80s 🔥 now Kendrick and SZA 6:49 in 2024 this is a real classic song. Go listen to the other versions young people. All 🔥

Two legends on the same frame! If you have noticed, both of them has swap their guitars. Ed is playing Arijit's guitar and Arijit playing Ed's. Just since you don't know about Arijit, he is an absolute legend of music. The best playback singer in the world, the most followed artist on Spotify, and the most streamed artist of non-english songs. He sings only in Hindi & Bengali, yet there are many countries in Asia that don't speak these languages but still listens to Arijit's songs, because it's so magical. Imagine if he would have sung in English? Probably might have become the most streamed Artist in the world? who knows! What stands out to me is, he sang it in a language not native to him, yet sang it so perfectly!

I absolutely love her and the song. I was taken aback when i 1st seen it. From what she said about the song Gaga confronts different versions of herself, some more frightening than others, in an attempt to regain control of her deepest fears.
