Thanks. I had a Zoom H2N recorder in my rucksack sitting in a piece of foam to try and limit movement noises. Its hard to get a completely clean sound track when carrying camping gear. Wonderful, the Royal Enfield was a very well balanced bike and could out corner a lot of other British bikes, this video has taken me back years, though I only had the Crusader Sports with airflow fairing it was a great bike apart from the crankcase oil leaks, thanks

Very nice, quite impressive for the price. What are your impressions of the product? I would use them for looking at the stars mostly, do you have anything you can think of that might be problematic for this?
@dtr125

It's a clever device, i've only tried it out a handful of times so far. The colour night-vision is quite impressive, i recommend using a tripod for more detailed footage as the image quality improves if the device isn't moving about. The regular night-vision IR mode is very good even on the lowest setting (i think it has about 7 IR power settings). I could clearly see a building 25m away on the 1 IR power mode. I was amazed how many stars i can see through it, the amount of satellites you can see moving at the same time in one shot was unexpected but quite fascinating. (I think i see 6 in one 15 second clip with some coming from different directions.) I'm not sure how long the battery lasts as yet, presumably the IR mode would use more battery if you had the IR bulb on brightly. I think it might be able to run while attached to USB power but don't quote me on that. I'm not sure of the focal length of this device but don't expect to see the whole milky way through it in one shot. I want to try looking at Andromeda galaxy thorough it one night as it might be visible. (I already own a smart telescope which can see Andromeda clearly: "Vaonis Vespera", you use a phone app on that smart telescope to move it to different items of interest in the night sky).

Great video. Pure Interceptor. Nice camera position. Can see the handlebars and gauges, the road ahead, and still get a good view of the landscape. Miss the English countryside. Australia is either bone dry and brown, brilliant green and flooded or black and burnt with bush-fires !

It's a "Garmin Zumo 346LMT-S", it's a good satnav and receives lifetime updates via WiFi. I got it on Amazon 3 years ago, they still sell it. I used "Ride With GPS" website to plot my routes, then exported them as GPX, and loaded them into Garmin Base-camp software on PC to convert the way-points to a route which the Garmin would read.

A lovely ride! Was the seat comfortable in INT 650? So sad they don't have Orange crush anymore :(
@dtr125
@dtr125 7 ай бұрын
Since i had the "Viaterra Claw" bag over my seat (with other stuff strapped on it), i had to sit far forward on the stock seat which did get uncomfortable after a while. When not load with luggage you can sit further back on seat which is better, but i might get a touring seat or a gel-pad next time i take a trip.

The numerical part of the title is needed to reference the order of the videos. If i wrote the exact from/to location in the title there wouldn't be room to highlight that it was a bike trip or the bike name. I don't have time to think up 150 different kwerky video titles either tbh.

What's your review of INT650? Is it comparable to Triumph Twins (build quality wise)
@dtr125
@dtr125 9 ай бұрын
I really like my Interceptor 650. The stock seat is a bit uncomfortable on long rides when you sit far forward on it, but there are many aftermarket seats available. It was managing over 70mpg even when loaded with camping gear surprisingly. It has a pleasant sound with the aftermarket "Enfield Precision" silencers. (The audio on these videos was recorded using a Zoom H2N audio recorder in my backpack. I had to adjust the levels a bit to limit background noise from luggage sacks blowing in the turbulance.) I've never owned or ridden any Triumph twins so i can't compare but i imagine the build quality might be higher on a Triumph, although i think the equivalent Triumph is something like £3000 more expensive than this bike. After 18 months ownership since i got it new the build quality is holding up pretty well. I try and only ride it on dry days. I do keep the engine casings polished as they are bare aluminium and i've seen bikes where people don't bother and they can go dull with white marks just like any bare aluminium if not looked after. There is a small rubber cover on my rear brake light switch which has small cracks in it but it's only a cover (i can put some tape around it). Overall it's a decent bike and if looked after should last for many years. This bike trip was around 2700 miles and the bike didn't give me any real issues apart from i noticed the front wheel needed the spokes adjusting from the 1st day of the trip (it had a handlebar wobble if i let go of the handlebars), but i waited until i got home to adjust it. The newer model with the black (coated) engine casings and alloy wheels is probably a bit easier on cosmetic maintenance although i do prefer the look of the shiny engine casings.

I've done my best over the past year since i purchased it to only ride it on dry days as this is the first bike i've purchased new and wanted to keep it looking nice. I did give it a wash underneath and de-grease the front sprocket area and clean the chain as bikes now done 2000 miles and roads were a bit greasy with the UK road salt recently.
