Big job! I tried it with a 51, but half way through, changed plans and ended up making it a 4" chopped 2 door convertible. Still looked insane.Good luck👍

In manufacturing this is called the “stack height”. If every supplier goes to the opposite ends of the allowed (+/-) tolerance nothing will fit.

It would be just as easy to turn it back to stock, And it probably never will rust out again, I was just fiddling with the idea of doing something stronger. The Chevy I have to get back on. I want to get that thing on the road this year at least driving, just been too damn busy and then I get on the side projects, and split my time. But I will get back on it. I just keep having these really good deals fall in my lap lol

I see no reason to not just repair it back to original. For one it will never rust out again like that in your lifetime, mainly for two reasons, you probably won't be driving it in the snow and salt and the other one you probably won't keep it that long. By the way, whats happening to your Chevy custom on the vette chassis?

I've owned 13 El-Caminos, I bought a 72 just like that, but it was green in color, it had a bad transmission, and the front in was worn out. Exhaust was rusted out. It had the snap on cover over the bed, great interior. I paid $700.00, turned out to be a great "ELLIE" after the repairs. Great find there, brought back memories, I too winched it out a garage.

Awesome videos man I'm binging them all. Buying all the parts for this conversion as we speak. Already have the outer sheet metal bits included quarter panels. Just need the structure
@chicobooze1
@chicobooze1 Жыл бұрын
Thank you I really appreciate that. Make sure you get a rear glass. Because you’re going to need that in order to set the quarter panels. That’s really important. Set the glass the rubber and the moldings. Then Tack your pieces in the place.

So, looking good. I was wondering, what did you use to piece in the gap you had to fill on the door window frame and posts. Did you use a piece from a donor door or did you fab up a filler piece from sheet metal?

It’s on a Paughco frame, so it doesn’t have the provisions for the jack shaft. So I was thinking about making something else work. And what I came up with was this. And it works really well. I just would use Heim joints and Stouder metal.

Bro you are a f****** genius I've been trying to figure out for the longest time how to get strobes on that damn bed without ripping out the whole damn wiring harness to add more wires that just wasn't going to happen they don't come out with a strobe that's plug and play with one wire two wires they all got controllers which you need a third wire that simply does not work I was going to wire it into my beacons so they come on automatically but then you got to change your pattern and that's the pain in the ass but with that retraction system you got there my brain just exploded I think because what you did here you might have just changed the strobe industry for rollbacks I'm going to look into this and I'm going to give it a shot thanks a heat bro I may be the only guy in the state with strobes on his road back thanks to you
