My rabbit currently has entropion took me a minute to realize what was going on as it's not as bad as yours. I noticed she had hair in her eye. I have treated it. I can see a wavy fold in her outer corner of her top eyelid causing the entropion. I am going to keep treating and hope that once the little bit of swelling is gone the eyelid will begin to try to correct itself. Entropion I learned in nursing school is the actural term for when the eyelid is folded inward which can be caused by an infection/other factors, or some may be predisposed to develope the condition due to genetics. From what I understand the term is for the current state of the eyelid being folded in and not dependent of how it was caused or whether its treatable. And yes they can do surgery or tack the eyelid up with stitches so it will stay uncurled. It is hard to tell tho sometimes which came first the conjunctivitis or the Entropion which is where I am at with honey bun.

Q: Who is the oldest goat on your farm? Oldest dog?
@rebekahdunkel1176 Жыл бұрын
I love seeing your animals and how you talk about them and care for them, especially the goats. I would love more Videos about goat raising. Your video on blood drawing on goats for testing was very helpful, and following your instructions my husband and I were able to draw our goats blood ourselves. THANK YOU! Q: why do you raise goats or I guess what is your goal or purpose for owning goats? Q: Do you make cheese, or other goat milk products? Q: Have you done any Aiing with your goats? I am trying to learn to ai and I struggle with heat detection. If you have helpful tips on that please share! I also want to possibly hand breed eventually, but I just really have a hard time catching the heats and knowing when it’s time. Q: do you do DHIR milk test?

Thanks for the kind words, Rebekah! I kinda ran out of video ideas for the goat husbandry part, but if you think of any specific topics you'd like videos on let me know and I'll try to make them again. :)

I don’t plan to neuter him but I also won’t be able to price him until I get him straightened out and see what he’s like. He’ll probably be in the 1k+ range though.

I was tasked with a 15k field lab that was pregnant... I was only 17 and so nervous when I found out how much she was worth and that she was going to have puppies soonish 😅😅😅 Callie only had eyes for birds she was super cool, she was the #1 field trial dog that year or something like that!
@forthrightfarms2 жыл бұрын
They are intimidating to be in control of, for sure! I pet a 45k dog one time, but it felt like a normal dog because I didn’t know I was meeting royalty at the time. If I had known I mighta been too scared to even pet it! 🤣

Do you do warm compress for infection? Just “prying it open” without warm compress I wouldn’t recommend.
@forthrightfarms2 жыл бұрын
My choice of words often sounds rougher than it actually is. Probably pry wasn’t a good word to use. It came open relatively easily. But yes, warm compresses are a good idea as well.
