Not sure why you smothered it with seasoning. You must not like the taste of wild game. Glad to see that you do your own processing.

Thanks for the information, some butcher shops will sell just the pork fat for a reduced price. Also, I have a Kitchenaide Pro 600 series, I purchased the metal meat grinder attachment and it works great.

I assume you are eating what you kill. Is there a limit? The picture at the end of the video made it seem like you didn't get that many... but the video made it look like 20 each at least.

I find this system still slides off my should pretty easily. The only thing I have that kind of works is to pull the chest strap all the way tight, then put the pack chest strap over it too. It sort of works but makes the quick access feature not usable. Any suggestions? I find all other solutions either awkward or that they slide off. I need two hands often as I am in mountainous terrain or using binos, etc. I might try the velcro idea. Thanks in advance.

How many cases of shells did you guys go through? One clip had one gun firing 9-12 shells. With ammo hard to find, I probably would have kept my plug in and gone with the traditional 3 shells instead of the unlimited mag allowed only for spring goose.
@gunflintoutdoors

We have been planning this trip for a long time, so everyone started gathering ammo about 6 months ago. Everybody went prepared with something like 2 cases each - so 20 boxes. I was the guy with the extension and I only ended up going through 9 boxes.

MC, Any thoughts on tiller tuning instead of adding a side stabilizer to one’s rig? I know it’s fussy, but it could save a good amount of money while keeping your setup more compact. Thank you. Great looking footage, by the way.

Max!!! How have you been? John tells me you've gotten deep into archery. You should get ahold of me and do some shooting some day. All my shooting buddies are 1000 miles away back in Wyoming. As to your question, I have no idea. I like to keep it simple. I'm a good enough shot to kill stuff, but not good enough that I fuss over all the nuances. Archery is 90% mental, and I find I shoot better if I tune out all the extra stuff and just shoot.

Good video! Wyoming hunter, myself. I used to have my meat processed as well, but then a friend show me how to do my own one year, and I've been doing it myself for the past 35 years. For the past several years, I combine 1 part of 70/30 mix ground beef to 4 parts of my lean (and I mean 99% fat-free) ground elk for my family's burger meat. We like it that way for casseroles, tacos, chili, etc. If I'm going to make actual hamburger patties, I'll add a tablespoon of bread crumb, 1 egg, Montreal Steak Seasoning, and 2 dashes of Worcestershire sauce to a pound of the burger. Just sharing with you and others here...not trying to steal your thunder. Thanks for a great video...you do home processors proud!

Nice review man! I like the pintler too its an awesome all arounder! You can do a nice bow carry with the pintler! The torso adjustment is called the Futura harness and it is awesome as i'm sure you know by now! Best torso adjustment i've ever come across. Easy to use and still comfortable, nothing poking you in the back and acts as a internal frame sheet. I'm running the Camelbak tri-zip pack right now which was a mystery ranch collaboration. Awesome little pack! It has the same futura but it doesn't have a nice frame. I'm not really big on the nice frames myself but they do serve their purpose. I prefer just an internal frame sheet with maybe one or two aluminum stays tops. My tri-zip is 37 liters where your pintler is 41 liters and with the nice frame you can practically double that carry capacity to 80 liters or more i would think. Those two mesh zipper pockets inside the pintler pack that are floating you could put tent poles behind them if you want i have seen people do that. I actually sewed mine right to the bag. They ride better that way in my opinion. Mystery ranch tri-zip packs are top notch! They hug your body perfectly once you get the futura harness adjusted just right to your toso. The 3 main zippers are waterproof coated too where their not on my pack but i have a matching rain cover too (camelbak maximum gear line) I want to find a tri-zip in the 45-50 liter range like their Ravine 50 or terraframe 50 and maybe the coulee 40. Something thats lighter weight but can carry atleast 3 days worth of gear. Their 3 day assault packs are nice but they don't hold a whole lot unless you run a few external pouches. The komoto dragon tri-zip pack would work great with one or two pouches aswell. But their military line is very expensive. You get what you pay for though! Hope the pintler pack served/serves you well?! Stay safe! Hike on!
