100% agree great review This car doesn’t get enough credit and it doesn’t get brought up enough. This is a super sedan like you said not a super sedan in the sense of 0 to 60 and top speed but a super sedan in the sense that it embodies every single aspect from Performance to technologyto even efficiency there is no better vehicle than this if you combine everything into one. I also agree that it’s lies that Lexus doesn’t make sporty performance cars like you said you have to find the right model, but they definitely do make them.

The diesels engines now, there are “gapless rings and dimpled piston tops” these can be updated Witt them, .quite an interesting modern technology upgrade for these things. Makes a significant different on the engine overall health what this upgrade does. Dave Automotive in Utah does the upgrade, reports for these are spectacular. This w upgrade the engine last you 50 years! There are very nice cosmetic upgrades too for these, F/R bumpers, winch, nice grill & headlight upgrades. Easy bolt on NO Mods to add-on!

If there was one weak link with the 6.9 and 7.3 diesels, it was Ford’s automatic transmissions. If you’re fortunate to have one with a manual transmission, they’ll definitely last forever. My old vo-ag teacher had an ‘89 F-250 with the 7.3 (non-Power stroke) and 5-speed manual…..over 500,000 original miles on that truck. But damn! Those International/Navistar 6.9 and 7.3 V8 diesels were bulletproof engines. It’s a shame that Ford ended their partnership with them.

Beautiful W140! I have a 97 s320 smoked silver metallic 133k. Bought in March. I’ve replaced many suspension parts and put a new set of Michelins on. Car drives like a dream. I remember seeing them in high school and college and hoping I could own one eventually. Now I can at 8% of original price. Enjoy!

Get rid of those aftermarket “crystal clear” style tail lights. They are poorly made and allow water intrusion into the housings and into the trunk as the seals fail very quickly. So find oem Mercedes part numbered units or the oem supplier which is ULO. They units are no longer made new though new old stock units show up on eBay from time to time. Or they are many great used unit that are very very clean and cares for. The oem/ULO units fit and seal much better to the car and look way nicer than the tacky anzo crystal clear units. Beautiful otherwise sir! Also that dark Trim around the windows don’t polish it. It’s not metal or anodized aluminum like the silver trim is. It’s actually a naturally occurring crystal called hematite.

Hey! Question for ya. Does your 1996 F250 XLT have a check engine light on the dash? If so where is it. I noticed it didn’t pull up for you when you went to start it neither does mine and there’s no cutout where it should be. Can’t figure out why

Hello. There is a red and silver gray Ford 2D OBS 1994 7.3 for sale here in Norway with only 73000 miles. It is automatic on it. Is automatic gearbox any good vs manual? They were sold with automatic only in Norway. The price was high and these cars were not used as work cars, but more as show-off cars and off-road cars for rich people who have to go to the cabin to hunt.

GM should have bought a clock supplier so it could have one that actually functioned. Other than that, always a solid piece of machinery across the board (for the most part) until the 1980s. I LOVE that upolstery and have never seen one with this style. When these cars began to morph into the living room velvet with throw pillow cushion seat bottom and back, it was awful. This is very tasteful, if too traditional for most people. It's funny how a luxury car of 1975 is so simple in terms of design and controls. You get in and drive.

At 5:03 you can see the tranny hesitate in first gear, then shift into second, rocking the truck and the camera. I had the same truck with only 90k miles and trust me, you feel that slosh when it shifts. I’d like to see what would happen if he full floored it getting on the freeway, the tranny might hold gears and refuse to shift unless you let off throttle, resulting in a jolt.

I’m lucky to have bought both a 1998 twelve valve Dodge Cummins diesel and the 2002 Ford Excursion and overall my Dodge was much better for every day driving while alone and overall speed and towing. The excursion for me was better for enjoying setting a crowd and less engine noise. The Dodge was much faster and I did put a new torque converter because it was an Automatic and I read that the transmission wouldn’t hold up if I put a chip in it. The Ford couldn’t do over 102 mph and except for hauling more inside people and things with less engine noise, I preferred the Dodge, it was just more fun to drive. I wore out the Dodge and I still have the Excursion but it never gave good fuel mileage and seemed more sluggish even though it weighed more and was much quieter. I’m selling the Ford that only has 84,400 miles on it but I wish I had the Dodge back with less than 100k on it, one thing that my Dodge would do was it wore out a brake pads every 25,000 miles. Looks wise , I had ordered it in Gloss Black and put on a matching black sleeper w/ carpet and running boards. My Ford came off the showroom floor in White w/ beige two tone and had better looking Aluminum wheels but I thought Black Dodge was better looking. If interested 801 372 3426 southern Utah.
