Kinda. I would say, just play dark interval, it is thousand times better and also the original hl2 beta.

It's pretty darn good, but it's more of a reimagining of HL2 Beta, if you want something more faithful try Dark Interval

The ak is in a safe in the co,mbine nexus building when you first splitoff from the group the safe is under some stairs and the msg is from the bonus map
