When in a altered state, its as though your spiritual antenna goes up, you become more "intune" with the spiritual realm. The same thing occurs when you take drugs, your mind is in a altered state, you are more intune with the spiritual. Here is the issue. In the first case you are denying self, and seeking God, where as in the latter you are indulging self. The indulgence of self is sinful. Thus when you take drugs , bc you are in a "sin state" you become intune with the darker side of the spiritual realm. But when you deny self, pray, seek Gods will, now you are in tune with the light or good side of the spiritual real. Indulgence is akin to gluttney, narcissisism, selfishness etc etc, thus you are appealing to your fallen sin nature. God will resist you in that altered state but "evil" will seek you out.

If there is no such thing as free will then how can you imprison someone for committing a crime then when, according to the Deterministic doctrine, the "criminal" has no agency of their own?
