What's interesting about this quirk of Columbo's is that the writers came up with it because they were lazy. They would write a scene and get caught up in Columbo admiring someone's shoes or talking about how his wife loves a certain actor, or whatever, and they would completely forget that the scene was supposed to include Columbo's main question. But, it being the '70s, with no computers or word processors to do a quick insertion, they had to use typewriters. And they didn't want to retype all those pages to include the new dialogue. So they tacked it onto the end with a "Oh, one more thing....." It became Columbo's trademark, and reinforced how clever his character was in identifying, investigating, and trapping the criminal.

I'm convinced he doesn't actually forget, and instead just does this for dramatic effect. Oh, and one more thing...
@kubaparcinski59425 ай бұрын
For sure. But I think he actually do it as psychological trick. Firstly the killer relax because he thinks Columbo is already leaving. Then Columbo comes back with „one more think” so the killer get tensed again and know he has to continue the act. After a few times of such swings the killer gets annoyed and his act gets much sloppier.

Columbus in the 50’s was never more than 10 minutes partly because of programming. There’s hardware and software. The 50’s TVs were mostly hardware and too small so they couldn’t hold longer shows inside them. Nowadays the software programming and larger memory with teamwork allows you to watch all sizes due to the chips and LEDs and Motorola involvement. The circuitry and transistors with programming makes the difference to make an overall racism free product. The primary transistor is the BJT and FET is the modern version of transistor. The types of BJT are NPN and PNP transistors. Dynamism vs placidity. The FET is a unipolar device, which means that it is made using either p-type or n-type material as main substrate. It’s a racist free product. The jury convicted Chowvin on all 3 counts of racism. That should tell you something.

One moah ting, uh, we found the knife at the murder scene with your fingerprints all over it and the victim's blood in your car and on the clothes you were wearing that night but, uh, I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation for all that and it's probably nothin'. Just, if you could, uh (where's my pen) just not leave town for the next few days I'm sure we'll have this all cleared up in no time. Ah there's my pen. Ah okay I think that's it. Okay see you soon.
