I felt sorry for bobby as he has changed and has become better and hopefully has learnt to control his anger Dana shouldn't of run away she should of sat down for a chat with bobby and gave him a chance to explain everything if she truly loved him then she would of given him a chance and understand that he was just a kid back then i hope one day bobby gets the girl he deserves someone who loves him understands him and is willing to give him a chance who knows maybe in the future dana returns and has a change of heart and admits to missing bobby and is willing to forgive him and give him a second chance and hopefully freddie this time will not be a idiot will just be bobbys best friend and help him get dana back and not jump in to bed with her😂😂

This was a really tragic story tbh. He had mental issues but it seemed like a few years in the psych ward would've fixed him up, I personally believe this storyline should've ended in the hotel room when Whitney explained her abuse, Leo tries to make up for it without any ulterior motives and actually tries to make a go of it with him (maybe not right away, but you can see his whole life changing right there, sucks EastEnders threw it away.)

I had PND and it broke down my relationship. So many people hated on me believing I used it as an excuse to leave when my daughter was 6 days old. PND in men is so overlooked and I am so happy to see eastenders is doing a storyline on it! I hit rock bottom not wanting to be around anymore. I was confused as I always wanted to be a father from a young age and even more so a father of a little girl. I had my wish, I had a beautiful girl, a beautiful partner inside and out and a lovely home. This confused me more and caused me to spiral worse. The story ends well though, I luckily have the greatest bond with my daughter now and after 3 years me and her mother are working on things again. I have to build her trust up which will take time but she has only recently learnt PND in men is a real thing.

I actually don’t mind the spiteful edge they tagged onto Jean at this point in the episodic game as it dots (albeit in a very watered-down form) with Stacey’s childhood and 2004/2005 Jean. Jean taunting Lily about having passed on the illness to her and telling her that one day she’ll end up like her (Lily should really be named Rose, but that’s neither here nor there) isn’t unrealistic. It’s not very nice for the kid who’s on the receiving end of it but that’s the reality of the illness. It makes people say things and taunt the people in their surroundings. Especially if there’s familial ground shared. I’m not surprised Lily ended up overdosing on lithium. That’s precisely what Jean’s actions drove her to and an 11-year-old girl who’s unlike someone like Stacey (in the sense of having the illness on her doorstep 24/7 and having to look after “freaky Jean”) wouldn’t have realistically-acted in any other way. Most kids would be tempted to try insulin if their severely-diabetic parents (as an example) told them that they’d be like them one day. And most kids would probably rather try their hand at a dab of insulin than dip Harribos and chocolate-y goodies from their diet.

Something that people dont realise is that yes, EastEnders is a fictional program. But even with all the elements that may not seem real the show is still set in a somewhat grounded reality even with the more surreal moments. The BBC go out there way to use EastEnders as a forum of education for the audience. ITV does the same with Corrie and Emmerdale. Paternal Postnatal Depression is a thing. Just as male breast cancer. Heres a thing you may not know either. Men can also show signs of having a phantom pregnancy while their spouse is the one carrying the child. In psychology its considered an empathy syndrome (called couvade syndrome) in which the dad starts to feel similar sensations to the mother, even down to things like cravings or even feeling/getting the idea of the pain the mother is going through during birth. Its a rare but fairly documented phenomenon.

Stacey's decision is influenced by her own upbringing where she was left picking the pieces, living with her mothers bipolar from a young age only for her to inherit the condition in her adulthood. I also get that Stacey wants to preserve her daughter's childhood but Lily's bright enough and old enough to understand the situation.
