Interesting topic. I wish there was a movement for actual technology minimalism - but, with a twist - only buy second hand/refurbished where possible. You see, I am all for helpful technology in our lives - if someone invents something truly innovative that improves our lives, or with some must have function, then sure go buy it. But, so many people are buying the latest iPhone etc just because they want the latest shiny thing. But, this is not only disastrous for our wallets, and the environment, every time someone buys the newest device, it allows the technology companies to downgrade the older devices, and, then others with older devices are forced to buy the latest, because their older devices become redundant. The irony is sometimes the older devices are actually better. For instance, I want an iPhone with a headphone port, but they don't make these new any more. If I hang on to my old iPhone it will eventually become redundant, indeed I have an ancient iPhone that still works but I was forced to upgrade as Apple made it impossible for me to still get on the internet etc with the old iPhone. And, where does all this old stuff wind up - landfill etc. Even if some parts can be recycled, we will still have waste. Another issue is that my understanding is that some of the components of phones/computers mainly come from the Congo, where there is much conflict, so, buying new devices is similar to buying a 'blood diamond'. So, buying new technology is not only wasteful for our finances, and detrimental to the environment, but might be supporting war lords and conditions akin to slavery. But, the last issue, is how much is that shiny new device really costing you? It's not just money wasted, but your time! Each time you upgrade your phone or computer (change it is a better description than upgrade) you can spend days, weeks or months sorting out your new device, apps don't work, or you need to buy a new printer or cables or there is some other hassle or expense involved with this new purchase - which, alleges it will make your life easier, but, actually makes it harder. Indeed, there is an episode of "Just Like That", where Charlotte and her husband buy new iPhones then stay up all night trying to get them to work. When, this kind of thing makes it into the social zeitgeist, and we all laugh along with their frustration, then clearly it is something we can all relate to. But, we are all being forced to 'upgrade' due to the early adopters. So, I beg people if your device really doesn't work anymore, think twice before buying new, instead buy refurbished. But, I also beg those early adopters, don't buy, unless you absolutely need the new device (not just desire it). So, before you give in to your lust for the pretty new thing, think about what it is really costing you and the world!

I couldn't agree with you more about having information so readily available. Absolutely love being able to look a little more deeply into subjects that interest me. When I grew up you had to either look in the encyclopedia if your family was lucky enough to own a set or you had to go to the library to answer the simplest questions. It is a great time if you are a curious person. Also, what band did you discover?

No one in their right mind would eat pop tarts or corn dogs prepared in the worst way possible like she did: microwaved pop tarts and corn dogs that were not deep fried. Seriously? You might do better getting food from a vending machine than that. Not sure how most of these items are even representative of typical American food to begin with. Hamburgers and hot dogs, of which a corn dog is a specific type, are typical fare, but mostly for those who don't like to cook their own meals. And deserts, even donuts, are not something Americans typically eat on an everyday basis.

Some grudges are worth holding onto LOL As far as holding on to grudges I feel it is a complete waste of energy. Energy that can be directed elsewhere. Allowing others to dictate how I feel is unacceptable to me. I just tell myself to let it go, like water off a duck's back. I'm not always successful at it but it works most of the time haha

That little voice that gnaws at you inside your head. One of the things I had to tell myself over and over so that I didn't feel so odd in this world is that there is no such thing as normal. Nobody knows why we're here, nobody knows what our purpose is. We're just making it up as we go lol. There are no rules about who or what you have to be. Just remembering this from time to time helps me LOL. And, as far as talking too much? I've been the same way much of my life because I get so excited about things. I have been very conscious since I was in my late 20s to make sure that I am not cutting people off and that I am actually fully engaged in what they are saying. This minimizes my feeling like I am just taking over the entire conversation and annoying everybody. Excitement and enthusiasm can be entertainment and motivation for the people around you. You seem quite normal. Trying to keep that insecure voice inside your head hushed can be a challenge but it is doable.

Some hard-won bits of wisdom here. I general, I do understand the things that you said here. Anger is an emotion which can indeed fester (not good for us or others), or it can change to determination (good for us and possibly others too). But when it comes to your faith, if you have one - please don't throw the baby out with the bathwater! Religiion is the letter - true faith is the Spirit. The letter kills, and the Holy Spirit lives. There are a lot of people who truly believe in Jesus Christ who do not subscribe to organised religion at all. Many have come to the same conclusions as you about the (sometimes deliberate?) errors in the ways human beings choose to interpret what Jesus said.

Appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment! I'm gonna have to respectfully decline on the religion thing though - I've had a lifetime of people telling me not to throw the baby out with the bathwater, and it does get a little old after a while. I don't have a faith, but I totally respect those that do unless they try to force it on others. Thanks for watching!

Yeeeh! You like In-N-Out! Next time get a double double animal style.😘👌 Pop Tarts. I don't get it either. In school I used to pick a couple for breakfast if I was running late and that was all I had time for. But I never really liked them. So yeah, I don't get the love. San Francisco clam chowder. Best if eaten in a bread bowl. Delicious! Keylime pie. Yep, one of my favorite pies.

For some reason the algorithm delivered this to me, so, thought I would give it a watch. Great wisdom. I HAVE EDITED THIS COMMENT, (CAPITALISED SO YOU CAN SEE IT) AS I MENTIONED VOLUME PROBLEMS BEFORE, I'VE REMOVED THAT PART OF MY COMMENT NOW, BECAUSE, SILLY ME, I'VE SINCE HAD A GOOD LOOK AT MY DEVICES AND IT WAS MY HEADPHONES THAT WERE THE ISSUE! APOLOGIES. I like what you say about anger, yes, I think anger is there for us to funnel our anger into productive action, the problem many people have is that they do nothing with their anger, and, then it just festers. To be fair it is not always possible to change injustice, or not easily at least. But, I think when all of us (myself included) rant to a friend or on social media about injustice, maybe, instead we can think about if there is any action we can take to right the wrongs. But, it is easier said than done. And, yes, religion doesn't want you to get angry, because, they don't want you to question their authority or use your anger to speak up against their oppressive ways. Speaking of easier said than done, I agree being emotionally detached from a situation definitely can make you see things clearer, but, I wonder how to do that? It's actually a fine balance, because, some emotion allows us to perceive danger. Some people with limited emotional responses downplay danger. For instance, in a potential disaster, you need to be calm but worried enough that you realise the situation is bad and you need to do something about it. I really like that you mentioned there will be people who admire you, I haven't really heard anyone mention that before. People often talk about people liking you, but, admiration is not something mentioned as much. And, yes it's good to think that some people, who, may not even want to be your friend, can still admire you for some achievement or a stance you took, or some help you provided to them or others. It may also be something you did that seems like a fleeting gesture, but, had a huge positive impact on someone else's life that they were forever grateful for.

It also depends on where ig is or who made it. Corn dogs are crap! Most places buy pre-made corn gogs from a bulk sales place and I think they are all made at the same place. So sweet!! The corn dogs you get at a county fair is different if you buy it from a booth that makes their own batter! A Pop Tart?? Yuck! A Smore is Gram Cracker with Marsh Mellows cooked over and a Hershey Bar between. It's a nasty over sweet campfire cookie treat. Drugs {{weed }} really help! With all the real food in the states you did not choose the best. Well, maybe the Burger but the best on the menu is the Number One!!Chowder and Pie, who and where was it made.

Kepier is a lovely place to live - very modern and comfortable, and you get a lot of privacy, based on visiting my friends who lived there. The only downside is that it's kind of a long way out of the city centre so it's not really close to the rest of college accommodation. Whether it was putting my clothes away right after they came out of the dryer or remembering somebody's name when they introduced themselves. Brown Sugar Cinnamon + BUTTER ... that's what kind, and what you need to do with Pop Tarts. Corn dogs needs to be gotten at a fair, to be honest. Something about that makes them better, but you should also try dipping them in mustard (or even ketchup). Also, you tried everything in California but, the U.S. is so large that a lot of food you get in one area only "simulates" what it's supposed to taste like. So, here's what you need to know ... the frozen yogurt and In-N-Out burgers originated in California, so of course, since they made them famous, they would be the ones that taste best. The key lime pie was just a fluke that you found a great one there. You NEED to go to the places that made each food famous to REALLY get a good idea on what they should taste like. With the pop tarts, and other such "convenience foods", you need to ask people how they like them, BEFORE you try them, or you'll just end up missing out on why they are popular. I mean, there is a reason why people like those things, so you need to inquire about what that is. Update: Yeah, about combining smores and Pop Tarts ... not always a good idea to combine things. Like I said, if you like that flavor, you should try Brown Sugar Cinnamon Pop Tarts, or Strawberry, Blueberry, Cherry, which are the most popular flavors of Pop Tarts.
