Jean Chretien made a goof during his acceptance speech, getting the year wrong for John Turner's fight against free trade. It was 1988, not 1986. (a common Canadian quirk!)

A rare GMC truck commercial from back in the day. Most of their advertising was word-of-mouth. GMC trucks were always (and still are) the novelty brand compared to their Chevy truck twins. It is more to do with the inspection process than the actual trucks, which is much more rigorous for GMC trucks than the SOP for the Chevy trucks. That's why GM can charge more for a GMC truck compared to a comparably equipped Chevy truck.
