Trees can burn from the root up also. Seen it riding trails around marysvale,UT. Doesn't mean it wasn't lightning.

I found one of those things I mentioned and it's called a Skidding Bell. When you don't want to disturb the neighbors they got these cool new edged weapons that do a great job on wood .. hehe 😂

I'm not sure what they are called but you could use ths thing I've seen which is basically a solid plastic bell that goes over the end of the log and keeps the edges from digging into the dirt when yarding them out. Keep em coming Bro any time out in the bush is a good time I figure ;)

Birch bark is full of tar. That's why it's waterproof and burns easily and why neanderthals heated it in the absence of oxygen to get the tar to fix their spear points and axes
