The only thing I had to do besides all the steps you showed, was to spray the track space where the window shoe fits with silicone so the window slides easily. Thank you!

This way of taking the window out is wrong, you can break the shoe in the process. The best way is to loosen the pin,which Is also known as a pivot bar and slide it over ,then release the tilt lock on the side you moved the pin

So my mom was cleaning the bathroom window today and took the window out with it all the way down. Then me and dad spent an hour trying to figure out why the darn thing wouldn't raise. Then I decided to go to another window to see how it worked and did the same darn thing! HA! After some family cussing I said hold up. Let me get on youtube because I know someone has done this before and has the remedy. Sure enough I found your video! Thank you so much. Thanks for the explanation we have Lincoln windows and this is exactly what were the problem was. We are going to put a little spray silicone on that locking mechanism and all our windows. Thanks very much again for the clear concise and accurate information.

Hi. The problem for us is that one of the sliders is stuck about 8 inches from bottom. I can release tension and slide up, but not down. Then the other working sliders won't release the window. No evident cracks debris etc. It turns with screwdriver, but won't slide down. So I cannot close the window. I am in worse position then when I began. Suggestions?

Thank you so much for sharing this video. My windows are fairly new and I called my window company because when cleaning one of them it was so hard to lift and lower. My warranty was expired (of course) and I was going to be charged $200 for someone to come out and I’m not sure if that covered the fixing of the window as well. I am very handy so when I saw this video I knew I could do it. Took about 5 min total. I also cleaned the tracks and wiped everything down. Added a little silicone spray to the tracks as well and wiped off the excess. Reconnected the window and it was like brand new again!!! Lifted and closed it with one hand 😁👍🏼

Awesome, this really helped us!!! If you ever redo it or add a note, you might note you turn the mechanism outward to release it and inward to resecure it (it's not hard to see in the video but it's a bit subtle).
