You did a very nice job of an overview of the Morgan silver dollar. There are many dates in the series and an absurd number of variations. A person could spend a lifetime studying all there is to know about Morgans, so I appreciate what you were able to convey in such a brief time. Well done, and congratulations on three years on your channel!

I was thinking about investing in silver, but when i started looking into it,.the price goes from £31 TOZ to £36 when added to basket cos of the vat. So im already down £5 before ive even started. Instead im going to invest in silver via an exchange or revolut. I know it means trusting a third party but it saves me £13 per oz

You can get VAT free but it’s vaulted. Alternatively look at preowned under chards special scheme. You can pick up silver for just shy of £30 or buy off other stackers/investors of silver.

I love these coins ,I could look at them all day long. I think the old yellow ones with a bit of silver in them are beutifull, that golden yellow colour is mesmerising...the rose gold ones are nationally disliked and that's why the royal mint are ending them next year .The royal mint should listen to the people who buy them we don't like them add silver not bloody copper to them.

For the last couple of years, the best dealers like the Atkinsons, Chards etc used to pay 100% of the current spot price (or even 1-2% over spot, yeah that's right...) for the most popular 1 oz gold coins, like the Krugerrand, Maple Leaf etc. Right now they're paying spot ONLY for the .9999 Royal Mint Gold coins - all the other 1 oz coins like the Krugerrand, Philharmoniker etc they pay no more than 2% UNDER spot. If the things won't change (and I doubt they will - less and less people may afford to spend over £2000 per coin), it's very likely they'll no longer pay spot for ANY 1 oz gold coins - including .9999 Britannia. But at the same time, I'm pretty sure you'll still get your full spot price for your both Full and Half Sovereigns

@macdonaldbullion

@@connorjones3080 I sell silver typically on the stackers social discord group, there’s a marketplace there for those selling gold and silver. I did this last year. Had a good stack, so I focused on smaller pieces and collectables for tax and off shore purposes (to get that part of the stack organized). I always keep an eye out for a deal (if they are giving it away), but that is the advantage of already having your stack in place. You can be choosey about what you buy and not worry if the market runs up (as you are already in).

I also wish i had bought more gold instead of silver, the gain on my gold coins were way better than on my silver coins and bars. BUT i am sure, that one day in the future i will be super happy that i bought so much silver and that i will wish than that i had bought more. Because physical silver is currently way to undervalued in my eyes. The industrial demand is steadily growing bigger and bigger, while the production rate of silver is not keeping up with the demand. It seems that the biggest problem of silver is that too much paper silver is created from thin air. I read that between 250 to 400 ounzes of silver only existing on paper are backed from only one ounce of physical silver.

Should instead better to purchase Gold Britannia coins, one-ounce 999.9 purity. Whereas, British Gold Sovereign Coins are mainly numismatic coins and these days there are also many FAKES, that are "Made in China". These Fakes are of rather good quality coins, but made with sub-standard or recycled Gold, with lower purity which cannot be easily detected. Additionally, the much higher premium for the numismatic Sovereign coin often cannot be recovered unless sold through another ardent coin collector.
@macdonaldbullion
@macdonaldbullion 13 күн бұрын
@@user-China1949 XRF will detect composition easily, that’s why I suggest using reputable bullion dealers that use xrf. You can pick up sovereigns at 1% premium, most best value are just a few % over spot anyway, the only high premium numismatics pieces will be proofs which I’m not really interested in unless it’s at bullion prices. Britannias are good but sovereigns are easily just as good. It’s all down to personal preference.

He's in the UK. No Capital Gains tax on Royal Mint silver. For most people in the UK buying anything else is madness. Secondly, you can moan about the Royal Mint and milk spotting but the Royal Mint and RCM produce the only coins in the entire world you can authenticate without a metal analytics machine. Every other coin can be faked - especially Eagles.
