When my parents retired, they went down to buy Harley’s. The dealership was very honest and asked if they’ve ever ridden Harleys before. My mom said no they suggested she goes across the street and get a Honda and starts with that because they’re still abled to be customized but they weigh hundreds of pounds lighter. For safety
@Yeti-v7q7 күн бұрын
Seems like you’ve avoided all facts like size ratio per a bike for safety and just did a whole I’m a hero to women and do what you want. No one’s doubting the capability of women, but you’re talking about the exception to the rule not the rule.
@FASTLANEMOTO7 күн бұрын
Hmmmn could be … but as the sportster of that particular year can take 430ish lbs for passenger weight …. I would’ve been completely fine at like 215 at the time :) hell I ended up riding a Honda Rebel 300 and I know the sportster can handle more than that lol 😂 and never had any issues. I appreciate your thoughts though. And Yes there probably are better bikes for bigger people but it’s completely capable.
@Yeti-v7q7 күн бұрын
@ maybe a 1200 sportster and if that’s just the shock weight. But with your size and frame, the positioning of your body is the unsafe part. But when you say sportster, a lot of people think the little 883.

Nice video, Congrats! Between the Shotgun 650 and the Indian Scout Sixty Bobber, which one do you recommend?
@FASTLANEMOTO17 күн бұрын
Depends. The Shotgun is a bike you can easily do the maintenance on…. Including if something went catastrophic… the scout is just a far less forgiving or accessible design to do any serious wrenching on. You’ll get more power with the scout but also more weight. That’s great on the highway but honestly the shotgun is plenty on the highway and the weight is perfect not to let you get thrown around. Shotgun is a more maneuverable bike and has better suspension including those upside down front forks which are amazing. The scout hits hard on bumps….Anti lock breaks are standard on the shotgun which I believe you still have to add them to the scout so extra $$ and the shotgun is just far easier to jump on and go or just turn around/ move around the garage….. stylistically it’s kinda a matter of taste…. The scouts fit and finish is pretty superb but the shotgun is fine as well just not quite as dialed in cosmetically….. I’ve kinda grown to like it looking a little rougher than the scout. Not to mention if you buy a shotgun new you get a 3 year unlimited mile full factory warranty…. And I’m pretty sure if you are financing it you can get some amazingly low interest rates through royalties Enfield if you get a 22 or 23. At least that’s what it is on most of their bikes. :)
@manueldiaspereira834717 күн бұрын
Thanks from the heart for your reply!😃 The weight is the same. The Shotgun in Portugal costs 7682.00 Euros, almost half the price than the Scout Sixth Bobber that costs 14,000.00 Euros.😔 In Portugal we cannot do the maintenance at home, otherwise we lose the warranty.😞 I'm going to buy the bike in cash, because thank God I don't need to ask for credit. In Portugal, interest rates on installment purchases are very high!🤯 Right now, I'm between the Shotgun 650 and the Fantic Caballero Scrambler 500...😌
@FASTLANEMOTO17 күн бұрын
@ absolutely no problem dude! I love chatting with people from around the world it’s so cool. 😎 I personally would get the shotgun over the Scout…. I will say even back in 2015 Indian gave you more standard equipment. Which is up grades on the Harley. They are both very nostalgic stle bikes. I will say the indian rides like a cadillac. But to be fair it's 100lbs heavier, but probably more comparable to the road king. Love em both. Just ride what ya like stay safe and ride

Short-legged riders like me can’t really ride a Harley. The engine is narrow but the transmission on Harleys is stupidly wide, you will burn your shins on one when coming to a stop unless you’re amazingly careful every time. More careful than any human can sustain for more than a few days at a time.

They even threw in $2000 credit for upgrades but still the new one would cost more because it was new but I buckled down and I said I wanted the 2016 Lowrider S because that was my dream bike and I got it and now I am happiest dude out there on the road. @@FASTLANEMOTO I assume he went to the York PA Plant.. Totally Disorganized. They have cleaned up their Manufacturing act many times over since then. I recently watched a video on the Ski-Doo Snowmobile plant in Quebec. Everything is State of the Art. They are very aware of their History. They keep adding buildings to the original 2 bay shop they started with. I noticed the workers were working at a rather slow leisurely pace. Union Workers were not Hustling very much. It sounds like CF Moto of China is going to purchase Arctic Cat from Textron. I think the reason that HD closed their new Modern Factory in Kansas City at a cost of $400 Million to close it is because of the Union Labor issues.

Is heavy enough to take it on the highway and will easily do those highway speeds ….and for thousands of dollars less….. take the extra $$$ and buy yourself all the coolest gear you want for riding :) Cheers 🍻

Great video man. I bought a 2023 Chieftain and I have not regretted it. I agree with you on the community side of things. Indian corporate or Polaris doesn’t seem to put the same kind of value on community that Harley Davidson does. Although I’ve seen some videos Originating from the Czech Republic and Prague that seem to go against that school of thought. But I have to admit I kinda like being an outlier. When people see my bike, they think it’s cool and I dig that.

Clown. Not because he opted for the Indian. That was a good call. Not because he opted against HD. That was an even better call. But in a market in which we're seemingly losing an MC dealer every freakin day (the trend had already begun even two years ago), whining because a dealer wouldn't accept the risk of letting a potential clown test drive a bike in the rain is self entitled and dumb. It's not your business my dude. And you're not the only clown on the wet roads when it's raining. And no one wants to count your nose hairs. So back away from the camera. smh

Such an awesome video and you explained a lot of the things including riding around town which is so important. How would you say it would handle if I were to ride it in some heavy traffic? Will it be easy to maneuver and merge into or switch lanes in slow speed to get around the cars? FYI I live in Bangkok, Thailand. Major traffic in rush hours lmao! Thanks n appreciate if you can reply!
@FASTLANEMOTOАй бұрын
Great questions. First thank you so much for watching …I love hearing from people like you from all over the world it’s so cool :) Your heavy traffic compared to ours in the states is pretty different….from what I’ve seen in videos ..so I’m not sure if I can answer accurately … here’s what I can say….. my commute to work is about 10 miles and the speed tops at 40 mph….. the traffic is two way single lane and not very heavy so it’s a really easy commute. I have had the bike on the freeway as you saw and had it upwards of 90 mph it absolutely zips in and out of traffic in those setting perfectly. As far as very dense traffic such as you experience I really wouldn’t know if it would be great for you or not. I do think it’s a really maneuverable bike. It’s just such an easy bike to ride and from what I’ve heard pretty much the easiest bike to flick around in Royal Enfield lineup :)

And at such a reachable price point…… I mean there are brand new 350’s for sale end of the year for like $2899 …. Of course closer to $3500/$3900 with all the fees and such but still….. it’s made a world a younger person can easily step into or if your older and always wanted that classic bike it’s reachable and easier to convince say your wife because it’s so inexpensive….. and to walk out into the garage everyday and see this beautiful machine that’s now yours….how cool is that :) yeah man I’m with you I absolutely love RE. And the ones that buy them dont use it. I have a 500 dollar watch... why my first wife got it for me is mind blowing. But it doesnt tell me time. It needs to be worn every day and in the sun.... give me simple and it works. Then make shit for people that want to flaunt it. Lol😊@@FASTLANEMOTO
